So...I first saw Ecigs in a mall, a few months ago. Didn't even consider it, didn't realize that the idea even got into my brain.

Then, shortly after, my wife got pregnant, so no more smoking in the house. And I started thinking: I don't want baby to grow up with a stinky dad, or in an unhealthy environment. I also don't like going out to the street to smoke. ;-)

And then I was walking through an electronics market, and saw a little stall selling the "Support Secret" e-cig.

Seemed expensive for a cigarette, but I got talking ot the lady in the shop- she let me try the display model (with a new cart, :) ) and...wow. It's just like...smoking. Really SO much like smoking.

So I bought it. Never really meant to quit "analogs," just to cut way back, and have an alternative for indoors. But I've had it two days...had one analog a couple of hours after I first tried the e-cig. By comparison, the "real" ciggie was harsh and nasty. So far, I haven't wanted another one. (vaping quite a bit, though.)

I don't know what the final result will be. BUt so far, as a new vaper, smoking has lost it's appeal. Not saying I'll never have another, but not going back to smoking them all the time.

So I just wanted to say hi to everybody, and thanks for such a great, informative forum.

Best,
Ande

PS- my E-cig, the Support Secret, isn't listed online anywhere I can find. (The fact that I'm in Asia is probably why.) It's a pretty standard E-cig. Refillable cart, atomizer, battery. A push button to "light" it. If you come across one, I recommend it, though I have no real basis for comparison. Two batteries, two atomizers, one charger, 10 dry cartridges and 20 ml of liquid cost me around $100 US. Seems reasonable, and makes a LOT of smoke, lasts a long time. (Haven't had to recharge battery on the first ciggie yet. Other still wrapped.

You're on your way to a new life with your family. Enjoy it. It only gets better. Like Classwife said, learn as much as you can. There is a wealth of knowledge here and in the ECF library. Not to mention a load of very supportive people who will be here to support you all the way. Congratulations! and WELCOME to ECF!
