Hi everyone , this is my first time posting something in any forum because I am worried sick .
I am a real newbie in the vaping world , my name is Renier and i have been vaping for about three months . I did a little bit of smoking prior , but right now I love vaping so much that haven't touched a single stick of ciggs.

Right , I have been using this Voopoo drag for about two months now . In the first month it doesn't have any issues . Right now i have a .33 ohm spaced fused clapton (ss) on the zeus rta . Everytime i turn it off and on , it says new coil and everytime i press yes it calibrates a different ohm value. In VW mode the ohm value jumps up to .39 .
Yes , i have tightened the screws on my zeus and also cleaned the 510 connector .What gives ?
Also , in TC mode the ohm value does not jump up and down.
P.S. I also have a demon rda on .20 ohm , in the past it is stable , but right now in VW in does go up to .24. How ? Why
Is it normal ?

Thanks in advance everyone.

Hi and welcome

As far as I know the more you use a coil it builds a crust on it and may change Ohm wise a little, as long as it is not jumping all around like from 0.3 up to 0.45 or so, next time you change out your Cotton take a coil brush and clean of your coil and dry burn it before you put new cotton in, may be the answer

I had similar issues when connecting my Kayfun to my IPV4. I usually have to either adjust the centre screw on the kayfun or the contact on the device. It turned out it was the IPV4 which needed adjusting.

Another instance actually happened a couple of days ago with my Charon/Kayfun. I just unscrewed the kayfun centre screw a little so it made better contact with the Charon.

This may or not be your problem but just thought it worth mentioning.

Stainless steel wire is used in temp control because its resistance changes with temperature. In VW mode, that resistance change is shown on the display. In TC mode, the resistance value of the coil is "locked" when it's at room temp so that the mod can read resistance changes during heat up.

It's a good idea to make sure all connections are secure and to occasionally clean the crud from the coil.

Welcome to ECF! You're in the right place.

Hi and welcome. It's perfectly normal for coils to change resistance with temperature; all metals do this. Don't worry about it if it's just a few tenths of an ohm. And stop telling your Drag you have a new coil unless you change the coil. It will ask the question every time it sees a resistance different from its baseline, and every time you tell it yes you are resetting the baseline. Instead, let the machine cool completely to room temp, then tell it you have a new coil so it will get a good fix on room temp resistance. After, tell it no so it can continue to use the room temp resistance you set. This will result in more stable TC performance.

I have been vaping since 2012 and you lost me at ".33 ohm spaced fused clapton (ss) on the zeus rta"
lol
Sorry I cannot add anything worthy in reply, I just find it fascinating how out of touch I am with devices and DIY liquids despite the years I have been vaping.

I use the same device I settled on in 2012 and the same e liquid too.... (Both discontinued!)
I am an anomaly !:D

Good luck with your research and I hope someone wades in with some help
