Hi everyone! New to the forum, not *so* new to vaping. I usually don't do these intro posts, but I have a series of questions that I would like to ask, so I'll just stick them in here. I'll start with some information about me.

I'm eighteen, and I've been hooked on vaping for almost six months now. I was previously a smoker for little over half a year, although I'm not sure if I would call myself addicted at that point. Smoked about 5-6 cigarettes a day until I got a little cigalike, and from there I moved on to using a c4 on an ego, then decided to move up a bit and got the iTaste vv/vw. I've been enjoying that quite a bit but I heard about mech mods and... here comes my questions/scenario.

Perhaps it's still early for me to be moving on to RBAs? I don't think it is, but before I go wrapping a coil or anything, I want to make sure I have as much knowledge I can. I got laid off two weeks back or so and ever since then I've just been sitting at my computer pouring over as much information as I can get. I don't want to bore you guys with a bunch of drivel, so I'm going to give the basics of what I *think I* know and also what I have bought already. I would mighty appreciate it if yall could correct me if I'm wrong and perhaps point me in the right direction.

I did research on batteries and learned quite a lot (interesting stuff it is). I've done research on battery safety, ohms law, etc. I know which battery I'm going to be using in my mod, and what RBA I'm looking to use as well. Basically I've scoured the internet and gained a better understanding of how dangerous it could be, and what precautions should be taken.

FIRST OFF I'll tell yall what I've got now sitting around, and I ain't touching it until I have a reasonable understanding of how to set it up/maintain it etc.

-Kamry K100
-Nimbus XL clone with 1/8 airholes (heard on some youtube videos that this was optimal for performance, also it's recommended on vapehappy
-2 SONY US18650VTC4 Li-Ion batteries
-28 Gauge Kanthal
-3mm silica wick
-Nitecore... something something charger. I know it works with these batteries, I don't feel like going to my room for the name.

Yall see anything wrong with what I got so far? (by the way no I did not buy that cloudchaser pack deal, I got all this stuff separately from (mostly) different retailers)

OK, so. Now for the questions. I found that my batteries maximum discharge output of 30A with a voltage of 3.7. They are rated for 2100 (nominal 2000) milliamp hours. So, this leaves me confused. If their maximum output is 30A, what is the continuous output? Should it be around 25? I've got no clue how to find out, and I can't seem to find any answers online. If the continuous discharge output is say, 25, would it be ok to build a coil with around 5.5 ohms of resistance? From my calculations that should draw around 24.8A out of the battery. Can someone tell me if this is wrong please?

Ah, and one more thing. Can someone point me to information about different coil wraps and the resistance levels of each? From what I understand, more wraps = higher resistance. I just don't know what the spacing should be, or how wire gauge affects resistance.

Last but not least, I am NOT doing this myself. I plan to have a knowledgeable, experienced person guide me through it. I'd really like to learn more about RBAs/RDAs. If yall can point me to any useful websites, I would appreciate it! :)

THANK YALL AGAIN and have a great day! Vape on :vapor:

Resistance is inversely proportional to current

Higher resistance, lower current

I am not experienced with battery builds, so you should read into the other sections. I am however experienced with electrical theory due to my job. Good luck, don't get discouraged. As soon as you get 10 posts, drop your question in the RBA/RDA section and those guru's will see this.
