My Story.

12 months ago I was a 40 a day smoker. The odd thing about my story is I had no intention of giving up smoking.

It was just another day,I was with my daughter and her new born baby , I had already performed the pre baby arrival ritual of putting out the fags, dumping the ashtrays and opening windows and doors. as it happened it was market day and my daughter said to me, "That stall that sells the electronic cigs is out there today, why don't you get one one, for when you have Logan ( Logan is my grandson). Well I did just that, the stall guy gave me a brief tutorial and packed me off with an ego style starter kit with two 600mha batteries, two chinese clearomisers, 10ml of menthol 24mg ejuice, an ego charger and a black case to keep it all in. It was purely intended as a device to use when baby was around so I would not have to go outside every 10 mins for a smoke.

The cigarette I smoked previous to trying out this device 12 months ago was the last analogue I ever touched

Welcome to ECF! what setup you running?

Hi

My indoor setup is a VAMO5 with an apsire nautilus standard and mini using1.8 BVC coils, For out and about I use the aspire ET - S again with the BVC coils on a vision SpinnerII. My all day juice is Hangsen VG RY4 6mg, However I start the day with Hangsen VG Expresso 6mg. To keep my taste buds alive I have a menthol of some kind on hand for the toot when things get a bit tasteless. and for emergencies when life gets a bit hectic I keep a bottle of something in 18mg to chill me out.

I have tried some US juices, like johnsons creek and loved them but they are just too expensive for me, I get through about 10ml a day, yep I was a chain smoker now I am a chain Vaper:)

The best Juice I have ever tasted for me was the RY4 from SMUG

To be fair Hangsen is good tasting juice for the money and is prepared in proper lab conditions. I pay 5 euros for 30ml of their VG where as I pay 20+ euros for Johnsons creek VG range. Just like when i used to smoke analogues, my brand of choice was the cheapest I could get but still enjoy.

Welcome to ECF, and vaping Chris. Congratulations on making the switch. :)

Thank you. Here is to spreading the word that smokers who want to quit dont have to. just switch. So simple, so life changing. Our governments want us to go back to the cancer sticks before too much revenue is lost but I believe the power of the people will win. the numbers are a real force and governments will bow to the power of the voter every time. Morals do not come into it. If governments really cared about the health risk of smoking it would be outlawed, instead it is fully legal and used as a source of revenue. This week we saw the first tobacco factory closure in Ireland. More will come. The legalised manslaughter of millions must end and we are the start of the revolution.

I really thought our governments cared about us by doing things like raising tax on tobacco , banning it in public areas. as a smoker I moaned about it but inside I knew it was right as the cancer sticks were going to kill me or at least burden the health service with my smoking related desease. Sadly the rise of the vaper has changed my opinion. A revolution that has the potential to save so much suffering and loss has been jumped on by the regulators who want to see it stamped out. Are the powers saying " Hold on this could be a good thing. think of all the lives that could be saved if it is what they say it is, lets study it first before we destroy a potential miracle in the making" no they are not. Why?

end of rant
