to ecf rchunter93. Nice to meet you and so glad you are here. Congrats on giving vaping a try. I absolutely love it and it is the only thing that ever helped me. I started out with a cigarette like device and quickly went to the ego style battery because I wanted poor battery life. Looking back now, I wish I had skipped the first two steps and just went for the mvp2 which is a box mod but I really was pleased with it. There are so many options out now. From the ileaf istick to the Joytech egrip. I am sure you will get lots of suggestions that I don't really know about. I enjoyed dripping so now I use a reo which is a bottom fed box mod and right now, I'm pretty sure this is all I will ever use. Good luck to you and I know with the help of ecf and YouTube, you will find exactly what you are looking for. Lots of people here that want to help any way they can. I was new once and I need lots. :D

Good reading for beginners here.

Hello and welcome to the forum rchunter. Glad to have you here!:)

If you are looking for an upgraded setup here are some possible options for you to consider:

A variable v/w (twist/spinner) is usually recommended over a "non variable" v/w battery. It allows you to adjust your settings to get a better "vape". Some flavors taste better at higher voltages than 3.7v

1. JoyeTech Ego-C Twist
2. Vision Spinner
3. Innokin iTaste vv v3 (or the new vv v4 - 750mah or 1000mah)
4. Innokin iTaste MVP v2 (or even better an MVP 20 watt)
5. eLeaf iStick

The first 3 are fall into the "ego style" category of battery (with variable voltage). They range in size from 600mah to 1300mah. The higher the mah the longer the battery will last between charging.

The 4th & 5th ones are a step up from an "ego style" battery in that they are smaller variable v/w box mods with a very big battery (2400-2600mah). It will last many vapers a whole day before it needs recharging. The MVP is probably one of the most popular batteries for someone upgrading from an "ego style" battery. The iStick is also very popular.

I suggest buying only name brand Joyetech Twist or Vision Spinner ego batteries if you choose to go this route. BTW, "ego" is merely a type of battery, not a brand name. Buying "generic" ego batteries is always going to be hit or miss...mostly miss.

You will also need to purchase a tank (the juice attachment) and extra coils. The mini Nautillus, mini Aerotank or regular size Aerotank (all made of glass & all have adjustable airflow control) are very popular.

Why would you want a glass tank (you may be thinking to yourself)? Here is a great resource regarding "tank cracking" eliquid by ECF member Baditude: Something Safe for Cinnamon and Citrus Flavors

I also started like you did. Here is what I did so as not to waste money just in case this wasn't for me:
1) Bought EVOD 650mAh battery and EVOD tank with a 10ml bottle ejuice
2) Fell in love
3) Bought more EVOD Tanks and another EVOD Battery
4) Got more educated
5) Got Vision spinner II 1650mAh VV battery
6) Got Kanger Protank2
7) Got a VV Gravity 1300 mAh battery
8) Bought MVP2.0 i30 kit

This is just a very quick rundown of what I did. Here is everything I had before selling what I no longer needed:
2 EVOD 650mAh batteries, 1 evod tank, 1 vox tank, 1 esmart tank, 1 Vision Spinner II VV 1650mAh battery

This is what I have now:
1 MVP 2.0, 1 i30 tank, 1 Kanger PT2, 1 mini Kanger PT3, 2 Aspire Maxi tanks, 1 VV Gravity 1300mAh battery.

I had spent alot of money in the long run versus just saving up and buying the MVP2.0. I would say to start off with a starter kit and if you like it then just skip the small batteries and get a MVP style or whichever suits your needs battery. Finding a tank that suits your needs is fun. I wish you all the best of luck.

I'm brand new to this site and somewhat new to vaping. I have been vaping with blu e-cigs, but I want to switch to the other stuff (sorry I don't know the terms). I want to find a good vaping product that is not an e cig and that I can fill with e-juice. Whatt are some good products for someone like me to start with?

Welcome to ECF rc, make yourself right at home! :)
I won't add to the confusion!

Hi rchunter and welcome to ECF!

I like the iStick with an Aspire Nautilus Mini on top, and so do a lot of others here in the forum.

However, before you buy, you might want to visit a local vape shop and look at the equipment. Luckily for you, there's one in your area. Here's a link to a map for it:
    Vape Shops Puxico, MO

Hope that helps, good luck in your search and Happy Vaping!
