Im 33 and been smoking almost 20 years... That hardly seems possible that time flew by like that!
I started smoking in school, in a effort to fit in with someone...anyone... It sort of worked but Ive regretted for so long!
Everyone around here smokes, it's the culture, every loved one I've lost has been related to cigs or a car wreck, all 4 grandparents, uncles cousins friends, you name it!
I've been determined to shake these damn things for some time, my wife finally got on board after losing her mom about a year ago to cancer!
Personally I haven't had a cig free day in all those years!
I got down to 5 a day... Then got a respiratory infection, and felt so bad, and was so depleted that all I could do was sit around...and smoke!
In a week of being sick I went from 5-7 smokes a day, up to 2-3 packs a day!
Brilliant huh!

Said enough is enough!
Hit the local vape shop and got a crappy esmart setup, I didn't like it much, but it worked!
I could feel the difference immediately!
Flash forward 2 months and I only broke down once, smoke 3 of the worst tasting marbs I've had in a moment of stress and weakness...
3 cigs in 3 months!
I'm pretty proud!
My wife was a heavier smoker than me, and she's done even better than me :)

We started at 12mg, now we're down to 3 and staring to cut it with 0nic to get down to none, it's hard but we're sticking to it.

vaping is a blast though! I'm not sure if we can drop it altogether... It's sort of a fun hobby. Plus she's now working in that same local shop, so were engulfed in the culture!
I spend what little free time I have educating myself on vaping, it's a lot to learn but in riding the learning curve!
In the 3 months of vaping we've accumulated 4 mods, 6 tanks, 1rda( I need more and better ones) and a whole cooler full of gear and gobs of juice steeping...
And still saving money!
Amazing!

I'm having some issues with my new device, I took the plunge and went from and Istick 100w upto a reuleaux dna200, I might be in a little over my head but I'll figure it out, sadly the device I got sent seems a little messed up, the terminals are all crooked and uneven, so I have enough to worry about with it before I even get it fired up and play with escribe... Sigh...
My wife's ipv d2 is doing her well! Much better than the Istick 30w she picked out to start with.

Anyway, I'm off to get my beautiful kids from school( my inspiration to quit cigs).

Thanks to this wonderful, informational site and community, I hope I can fit in, if not contribute at times!

Thanks for having me!

Welcome to ECF, swayback! Congrats on being on your way to hopefully breaking the cycle of cancer deaths in your family! Now you can focus on being careful when you drive! [emoji23]

In all seriousness, you and your wife sound like you're well on your way to a smoke-free life. That's awesome if you ask me, vaping really works!

Sent from Doomite Central!

Thanks a bunch!

I've actually been using this board as a source to educate myself from day 1!
I'm too disabled to work, but it's not recognized as a true disability, so my wife works her .... off!
I've taking it upon myself to educate myself, and help teach her. It just makes sense, I have the time and patience to learn this stuff, and she's on her way to managing the local shop, 12 hour days don't allow for much reading time, but she's getting the hands in training there. It's working out, but boy is it a big change!

It's funny though, after a few weeks my brain was already rewired to the point that I didn't crave cigs, except after pizza, and certain adult activities, but they passed too!

I'm really loving it!

It's been a bumpy road though!
The reason I own so many devices is due to failure of my initial mod, an Istick 100, I'm not returning my 2nd one, it's not burning could like the first, but the battery display is reding wrong. I thought $30 for 100w was a steal, but then looking at a pile of coil heads that cost over $100 changed my mind pretty quick!
Who knows? Maybe third times the charm and this new Istick will work!

I'm really bummed that I spent $170 on this reuleaux dna200, and it shows up looking like a 10 year old put the battery sled together, especially since I can't find anyone else having issues with the physical condition of theirs...
I was so sure it was the apv for me!
Ergononical, top of the line chip, replaceable batts, and a great small size considering it hold 3 18650's...

Just another bump in the road!
It's not a big enough bump to knock me off the wagon! To hell with cigs!

If anyone would like to chime in, I'll try to link my thread about my reuleaux, it's really got me bummed out! I was so looking forward to it... Now I question if it's the right device for me... Maybe I got the 1 in a million lemon, all the other buyers are in love!
I just look at mine and get mad and upset...

I'd also like to give myself a little cred!
Bith my wife and I join casaa within a week of vaping, I've signed every petition I find, mailed my state reps...
We gotta spread the word and fight for our right!

I even had to swipe a few mods from stubborn vapers that didn't want to sign, I figured if they didn't want to vape then they wouldn't mind... Turned out they did want to vape after all!
Cheers!
Thanks for the welcome folks!

Welcome! Your story will help many people -- even the ones who are already here! You sound like a genuinely nice person and I am glad you and your wife are doing this together. It's wonderful! My family and I are down to zero nicotine after years of vaping. I have been vaping five years and my wife has made it four and a half. My grown children have all quit smoking by vaping. Great to have you here!!!
