My name is Jodi and glad to be here. I'm fairly new to posting on the forum. Have been lurking for a few years. I need to know if anyone has acquired the Dolphin ceramic coil tank. Just got this thing this week and using it on a Kanger mini platinum. I like the taste with this tank but boy does it get hot. The box says 0.3ohm-o.4ohm (30w-80w). So my tank states it is on 75w but can't figure the temp at 200F and can't get it lower than that. Am I doing something wrong. It gets really hot to the touch after just 3 puffs and I'm not a deep lung inhaler. Thanks everyone for your help.

howdy! and welcome!

it sounds like you have it set on TC mode - and that is a ceramic coil - need to have it in wattage mode and likely want to start around 30w, work your way up to find your 'sweet spot'...

if you are using an actual TC coil ( i think that mod will handle Ni, Ti, SS for Temp Control), 200F is the lower limit (typically with TC, you will find yourself in the 375F to 450F range) - but again, the issue is that you should NOT be using that coil in TC mode at all

so, change mode to VW or Wattage or Power (not sure which verbiage that mod uses) and try starting around 30w or so

hope this helps, and welcome, again, neighbor :)

Thank you everyone for replying. suprtrkr, I'm having trouble with changing over. The battery is a kanger topbox mini platinum. When hitting the firing button, in window it shows two little icons to the left as 0.41 and under that 75.0W. To the right of that showing 120 Ti and under that C. I have fired the button 3 times and nothing. Fired 5 times which should turn it off. So something is wrong somewhere.

Thank you for all the welcoming. BrotherBob I have bookmarked that site, very easy to understand. Now I'm using that Gigue Dolphin ceramic coil which is going to take getting use to. Now I got the Kanger Topbox fixed on the wattage at 39 and it still get so hot I'm afraid to take more than 3 puffs at a time. I really don't know what to do and probably nothing I can do, lol

The Kanger got stuck on TC and it was burning hotter...hot to touch. Would go below 200w. Finally with a lot of button presses and moving it from side to side I was able to get it out of that mode and now at at 40w and not as bad. The tank is (03w-80w) range. The Kanger should be able to handle that. I think it is because of the ceramic coil, probable runs hotter than most. Even now at 40 the tank is hot to touch after a few puff. I'm a mouth to lung smoker and don't inhale very deep. Do not care how big a cloud I get. At 66 and free from analogs since Feb 2012 and proud that I finally quit after 45 to 50 yrs. It was time.
