Hi all,
First off, thanks for all the giggles I've had over the past day or so reading the "Esmoking in public" threads. Some class stuff in there. :D
So anyway. 3 days ago I was stood outside a pub during a very cold and wet cig break, and I saw a no smoking sign in the window. Right underneath it was another sign, saying "It is LEGAL to smoke E-cigs here!" I was like WTF is an ecig? Got home, went on google, and it was as if I'd discovered the holy grail
So I dived in head first, looked on Ebay at all the different offers, and went for this package :
89mm super mini cigarette
spare battery
battery charger
power lead
atomized (medium strength) x6
50 extra high cartridges.
£42 all in.

I'm wishing I'd found this site before ordering, to be honest, cus I think the black ones would be better for a stress free life, but I am looking forward to the looks of people on the bus, in the pub, at work (call center) etc. Can't wait for the postman on Monday :D

Anyway, here is my obligatory noob question.
From what I can see on here, one cartridge is the equivalent of 15-20 analogue (heheh I love that description) cigarettes. Is that right? And if so, am I reading the description from Ebay wrongly? As in "50 extra high cartridges" is that really the equivalent of about 750 real cigs? Its almost like a too-good-to-be-true-so-it-must-be-a-scam thing. Any ideas? The seller has 100% pos feedback on over 300 sales.

So yep. Hiya :D

Hi Spliffy, welcome to the forum.

This is more like what to expect from cartridges:

Super Minis (RN4081, RN4088, DSE103, etc...): About 1-3 cigs worth (20-30 puffs)
Mini (DSE901, etc...): 5-6 cigs worth (50-75 puffs depending on how you puff)
Pen (DSE801, RN4072, etc...): 7-10 cigs worth (up to about 100 puffs)
eCigar: 10-12 cigs worth (up to about 120-130 puffs)
Pipe (DSE601, etc...) Atleast 14-15 cigs worth

Another thing you might want to consider.....this may not go as well as you think. There's a thread going around now where a vaper in a pub was prohibited from using it inside. And if someone on a bus complains, don't be surprised if the same happens there. Flaunting the ecig doesn't seem to yield favorable results right now...unless, of course, you know the people and they would take it for what it's worth. Otherwise, discretion seems to fare better, for now at least.

Just a word of newbie caution.

Heheh yep I'm thinking maybe best to ask for permission at work and the poker tables first, but I'm seeing this as a huge **** YOU to all the antis. They won the battle to get us outside the pubs, which is fair enough. I shouldn't be allowed to force people to breathe my smoke, but time moves on, and I see these E-cigs as here to stay, not just a passing fad, so people should just get used to them. And YAAAAY no more brown fingers

Hey bro, I am noob to as was looking at the DSE801 or DSE901 packages on ebay. I was going with puresmoker, but found the ones on ebay cheaper, and I know they don't last forever so I wasn't too worried with quality.

Lordmage, I see your in Dundalk hon! I just moved back to my folks place from Highlandtown, looking at buying a place in Dundalk/Essex/Middle River are within a year, love it there!

One thing you might want to consider b00, is customer service. If you end up with a faulty atomizer or battery, will the ebay seller take care of you?

Just my $.02.

Just something to try out and see if I like it, me and my dad both kill a pack of Marlboro Lights a day and want something healthier and possibly cheaper.

BOOOOO Dunalk! :pervy:

I have carts (marlboro, menthol, french pipe, vanilla and strawberry all in high strength), atomizers and batteries for that if you find you ever need anything. The one you posted is a true DSE901. You can tell by the slim mouth peice.

Hey all....Well one week of vaping and I'm VERY impressed :D
I'm finding one cart lasts me 1 day, and I used to smoke 20-30 roll ups a day.
The batteries, now they are a completely different story. I go through 2 a day!!!
Had a major problem today at work tho. I felt a burning sensation through my jacket, and my battery appears to have discharged all its power in one go, at random. I've had problems with this one battery since I got my kit. Sometimes it doesn't work at all, sometimes it works for a couple of puffs, sometimes it works just fine, and today it decided to have a mind of its own!!!

So now my Ecig is useless, as the heater bit is covered in melted plastic.
I have emailed the seller to see if he will replace the parts, but I am doubtful as he states no returns in his T&C. Thankfully I haven't left him feedback yet, and he is on 100%, so hopefully he will do the right thing.
Has anyone else had this happen?
Oh yeah, its an RN4088.
Cheers.
