I started vaping in 2008 befor there even wa a blu. Before vaping was even a word. The word was coined on this site btw. No. Blu was origionally a cigalike 3 piece system: juice container, atomizer, and battery. The connection between the atomizer and the battery was what was 510. There may have been a blu pod though, and the last blu I heard of was a disposable. So totally different hardware. The name apparently still carried weight though. I think that weight was created by the popularity of the original blu, and it was popular not because it was good, it wasn’t, Even then. By modern standards it would be terrible, but because you could get batteries cheap. Also, because it had a standard attachment it would connect to anything. They were sold at gas stations and if your mod died you could by a blu and use the battery or if your atty died or you were out of juice you could buy a blu and attach it to your mod. And if you kept vaping you could change up and keep some of your hardware. That was enough to make people say “just buy a blu” so they were very popular. Even I said it. I heard one guy say that it was called blu because the draw was so tight that was the color you turned when you tried to vape one. Not untrue. It had a 510 though and that was everything.
