Smoked for 50 yrs. and tried everything to stop. Tried vaping 2 yrs. ago and haven't had a cigarette since! I am so thankful. I used the Davide Dual Coil up until last week when I bought a Aspire Odyssey Mini Kit. I have the 1.20 ohm Kanthal coil in there now. I have read up on so much information that I'm totally confused now. Would appreciate any help in understanding what wattage I should use and the PG/VG concentrations that work best. I am not after big clouds, just want to leisurely enjoy my vaping. Thank you!

Hi, welcome waggo, glad you joined us. Congratz on quitting and staying quit for 2 years. As for your questions, well truthfully there is no right answer as it is largely about what you like. That coil is rated for 15-20 watts, but I'd probably start a bit lower than that, and slowly bring up the wattage until you are getting what you think is the best vape.
PG/VG ratio depends on many factors. With the coil that's in there now 50/50 should be fine, lower resistance coils you might find you need less PG and more VG. Also PG provides more throat hit, so go with more VG if you want less throat hit, and more PG if you want more.

Don't hesitate to ask if you need more info, lots of good people around here who will be more than happy to help you out.

For leisurely vaping (if you are used to a Davide) I would try at 10 watts first, then probably nudge it up to 15. Some new coil designs don't work too low, but a 1.2ohm should be up and running by 14.

I find 50/50 the most reliable ratio for 14-18 watt vaping. High PG in subtanks can encourage leaking. High VG in atomizers with small wicking (juice) holes can be troublesome.

Hi and welcome. I used the Davides myself for a long time; an excellent tootle tank. Good quality and smooth vape, if not, as you say, particularly cloudy. I feel sure you will get along just fine with the Odyssey kit. You should be able to use any juice ratio between about 70PG/30VG out to perhaps 40PG/60VG. 50/50 is a good, all around choice. More PG for better flavor and more throat hit, more VG for more cloud and smoother vape. On those coils, I'd probably start in the 9-10 watt range, and work it up until you get the vape you want. I think you'll find the sweet spot on them in the 14-16 watt area. Good luck and vape happy.

    Thanks guys! Again most appreciated!

No problem. My Mini Davide (Anyvape?) c.2014 had a short and sad life.
I took it out the first day and lost the drip tip. Never found a replacement.

I posted it 300 miles to a better home. The recipient said they'd lost the tank and had a spare drip-tip for free.

    Happy ending. :)

Hi, Waggo, and congratulations on the 2 yr. switch.

Along with a Kanger Subtank mini and Aspire Nautilus tanks, I also use the Davides and Protank 2's.

I've learned to use them (Davides and PT's) with an air flow controller (AFC) with my own rebuilt coils (30 ga. Kanthal at 1.5 ohms and wicked with cellu cotton).

I am an invenerate "cool" Tootle Puffer vaper and normally vape anywhere from 9 to 11 watts with a 60 pg/ 40 vg blend on all three types of tanks. BUT, everyone is on their own journey with their own preferences.

Seek and you shall find......With a great deal of info and help here on ECF, it won't take much time at all.

Thank you. I have been working on my sister to quit and passing on my well used Davide! Hard to give it up though.
