Hi guys, I'm new to vaping but have been an analog smoker for quite some time already.

Am currently looking to get my first kit but where I'm from, it's not legal and thus it's very difficult to even find a supplier here so I'd just learn more until I find someone that has a kit to sell.

Can I just ask if it's advisable to buy a second-hand vape?

second hand vape gear? sure that shouldn't be a problem -- you should always clean things well when they are received -- new or used. From the factory they sometimes have oil and from someone else who knows ;)

I would look in to DIY ejuice, personally I would not use second hand juice... Coils should also be new and sealed. but getting in to RDA's may be easier for you since you would not need to buy more coils all the time.

Welcome to ECF!

Buying second hand should be fine. Just make sure it's been looked after and give it a good clean.

Maybe post a pic here before you buy so some other more experienced vapers can tell you if it looks OK and what to look out for? Without knowing what your going to buy its a bit hard to answer properly e.g. if it's a mech mod what sort of batteries and builds your going to use.

Can you tell us what sort of setup your hoping to buy second hand?

@sig-cmt Yeah, I know I can get a first hand one online but importing in would really be a hassle and I could be wrong but customs in Singapore check packages thoroughly, so I'm kinda lost at what to do

@yosmithy honestly, I was only attracted by the design of Subox mini starter kit, but I haven't found any supplier in my region (Singapore) because it is heavily legislated

With the exception of a battery and some atomizers, I see no reason not to. If the mod has a battery built in, keep in mind that batteries start to diminish in power over time. If it's a device that has a replaceable battery, I see no reason as to why not. As far as atomizers, the coil itself has a limited number of uses. I don't know if Kanthal is banned since it has quite a few other uses, but if it's not, look for something you can rebuild yourself and learn to rebuilt.

I recommend talking to a fellow vaper. I do know that SG watches these posts, so be careful.

Subox mini starter kit would be really good. I don't think you could go wrong with that.

i think ur shipment is just on transit. i'm sure the singapore authority has no right to detain ur shipment.
SP customs or any other nations customs agencies have the right to search for contraband, counterfeits, or anything they choose.
Just checked track#, USPS say 'awaiting SP acceptance..

but if ur country didn't banned vaping, i'm sure u'll received ur stuffs.
United States, not yet. I've ordered products from Asia since the internet made it easy. 15 years. Usually about 5 days out of SP, 3 days China post, HK don't ask. U.S. incoming 2 days. I'm just impatient..

My last singapore post order sat at "dispached to overseas destination" for maybe 2-3 weeks there daviedog.. it went from dispached to overseas to failed delivery attempt since I missed the posty hehe, usually the tracking updates to give you a general idea of when to expect it, e.g. arrived at overseas country, being processed by customs, dispatched to address etc.

Maybe it's a bad time of year, or their systems have gone down hehe.. don't be surprised if posty turns up with it like I was :)

Edit: I checked their website a few hours after the missed delivery and it still said dispached to overseas country, it was only by late that evening or the next morning it had changed to failed delivery attempt, kind of annoying delay we are talking here :p

Possibly an RTA but

A agree. Learn to build and wick coils. Go with either an RDA or RTA. Learn to DIY juice.

I would recommend a mod with an 18650 battery.

Istick60tc
IPV D2
Cloupor Mini Plus
Evic Mini

Don't get a used MOD.

An RTA or RDA used is another story these can be picked up used. Check the 510 pin and insulator for abuse
