I recently picked up a Vamo for my nephew and had a similar problem. For me it seemed that the battery well is a bit too long (or the spring too sift) so that any slight movement broke contact with the positive post and I'd have to turn it on a again (and reset settings). I looked in the stuff that came with it and found a more heavy duty battery cap spring. Installed it and haven't had the problem since (I left the original in as well).

Hope it helps.

I found it in the package when it arrived from Vapor Alley. I didn't know what it was for and just stuck it on a drawer till I realized it must be an "on-the-fly" fix for a common problem. If you didn't get one with your order you may want to contact your vendor and ask for one. If not, they may sell them separately at Vapor Alley. In a pinch I'd probably try to "MacGyver" it with one out of flashlight.

I will say that I'm pretty pleased with the Vamo's performance. It really works very well once you get it working.
