Situation:
Back in April 2010, my gf bought us a bunch of different ecig hardware to try out. We ended up with two Blus, a Volcano, and a pair of 510s. One of the Blus disappeared on us sometime during the first month, but I still have one complete Blu, one complete Volcano, and both of the 510s. She's also purchased two new complete 510 setups since then.
My first comment, is that I have no idea what terror you guys are putting your atomizers through, but we use these things like crazy, and all of the atomizers were working perfectly until about a week or two ago .. 8 months is a ton longer than the 6-week lifetime I read everyone else talking about
However, here is where my questions come in .. the Volcano and Blu batteries do not work. The Volcano battery lasted about a month, before complete (apparent) death.
The Blu battery just stopped working last week. It lights up and charges as it's supposed to, but it doesn't seem to be activating the atomizers anymore.
The Volcano battery lights up when drawn on on it's own, but does not light up when attached to an atomizer. I tried the "stick a pin in the hole" trick, but it doesn't seem to contact with anything. (if I do this in the Blu battery, it only goes a tiny bit in before it connects something .. so apparently either they have vastly differing internal structures, or my Volcano battery is really screwed up physically)
The Blu battery, as well as one of the black 510 batteries (the automatic one) have suffered extreme paint flaking and peeling. The Volcano and manual 510 have not suffered any kind of paint related issues at all. Both 510 attys have peeled quite a bit, too. The gf's two newer 510's, a pink and a silver, have not had any issues at all with that.
The original 2 510 atomizers have also apparently given up, as their output is significantly decreased compared to the newer ones. We do clean them when their performance or flavor seems off, but we don't do a scheduled maintenance or anything like that
This isn't terribly bothersome, as they both lasted >8 months, and the Blu/Volcano atty work fine on the 510s .. but ..
If anyone has any suggestions for possible ways to refresh any of this hardware into a functioning state, would love to hear it. I'm enjoying spending $20 every couple of months on fluid, rather than replacing hardware regularly, or worse, buying real cigarettes!
