VanCity
Hey, i just recently switched to vaping. Read lots of reviews and tips on here and decided to go with the ego-c. Its simple, convienient and produces great vapor. I picked it up from vancityvapor and also grabbed some blueberry, peach, tutti fruti, and grape juices. My favorites are definitely blueberry and grape. Im going to pick up some watermelon and virginia (du maurier) flavours soon to try those out. All the juices at vancity have an awesome throat hit, hard to get used to at first. Its always funny seeing seasoned smokers coughing not expecting the TH. The only problem i have is the slight craving for an analog every now and then :( but every time i smoke one i realize how bad they taste :p. Just wanted to introduce myself! Love this forum and all the amazing info you can find here! :vapor:

That analog craving is pretty normal. I mean you have to understand, when burned in a cigarette, the nicotine undergoes a chemical reaction with the ammonia added to the cigs. Essentially, smoking a cigarette freebased the nicotine. So while the nicotine content of a cigarette is MUCH lower than your 24mg juice (a cig only has a mg or two of nicotine), you get an extremely potent hit. This process also serves to make the nicotine far more addictive. There are also other properties of cigarettes which are addictive.

And of course, smoking an analog feels much different than vaping. These reasons are why you're still having cig cravings, regardless of substituting nicotine. Now, the nicotine you are getting should make the cravings mild enough to deal with. But you will still have cravings. Hold out without a cig as long as you can. When you finally do cave and have a cig, it's going to taste bloody awful. It's also going to hit you very hard and might make you feel a little icky. The feel of smoke on your skin, and smell on your clothes certainly won't be pleasant. I've found this has been instrumental to my quitting.

Now, my banner says I haven't had a cig in x amount of days, that's kind of a lie. I've slipped up a few times. I've had two in the last few weeks. I didn't intend to, but it happens. I found that I absolutely hated it. I can't explain why I have the desire to smoke when I hate it, but I do. However, this distaste makes me also want to resist, so much more. Not only do I no longer enjoy smoking the cigarette, I feel gross, "icky" after. And the next day, my lungs feel like bloody murder. I do honestly believe, in time, that these slip ups will stop happening. I can only see my distaste for smoking growing stronger as my taste buds and sense of smell repair themselves even more.

Stick with it my man. You will get there even if you slip up. And please don't beat yourself up if you do slip up and have a cig. Every cig you say no to is an accomplishment and should be celebrated. Even if you do continue to have the occasional cigarette, you're doing your body a favor by not being a regular smoker. Just keep on track and keep trying.

Oh, you should also know that after a while, something spectacular and wonderful will happen. You'll be able to breath again. As a smoker, you probably don't realize how much your lung function has decreased. You probably feel like you breath alright. Trust me, you don't. You won't realize until your lungs start to heal just how much you've been missing.

I've been breathing really great for about a week. It still blows my mind, how I can take a deep breath, and feel this nice full lung, oxygenated feeling. Not sure I can explain it sufficiently, but it makes you feel absolutely wonderful. You get this nice tingle in your body and brain. It's an absolutely beautiful feeling.

Just thought I'd give you something to look forward to :)

The nice thing about using an e-cig as a replacement for smoking, as opposed to a way to stop smoking is that you don't have feel horrible about comparing the two. I say have a cigarette when you really want one. Nothing is going to make you want the next one less than having one now after a week or two of vaping. Personally, I think slipping up just serves as negative reinforcement.

Absolutely. It's not a guilt thing like any stop smoking programs, it's more of an "ick! Why did I do that?!" feeling.

Hi vancity!! I had terrible cravings when I first started. I was pretty firm on my resolve to quit analogs, so I kept a carto of 24 mg super strong mint to help. They were still rough, but it gets better over time. I haven't used the 24 mg. for at least a week now, and things are getting better. They will get better for you, too.

Welcome aboard and congrats! BTW - being that nic liquid is not approved for sale in Canada...I think it's a bad idea to announce a Canadian vendor you're using to get your nic liquid on the public forum -- just sayin'. Lots of vendors, have been shut down already, and many are trying to maintain operations covertly. Our options are limited already so please don't "out" them! (Especially if it's one I also use! :p)
