hello vapers. Hope all of you are doing well.
I was smoking on and off for the past 7 years and recently got into vaping after I spent some time with a buddy who vapes. His setup was very impressive and after having a few puffs, cigarettes started to look and feel disgusting.
The mod he was using was a sigelei fuchai with a cloud beast tfv8.
What would you guys recommend for a newbie who wants decent plumes of smoke, not massive clouds and a good battery life (2x18650) with temp control.
I have done some reasearch and have ordered a smok alien kit but from what I read here, you guys don't like it much.
I want something that is reliable and tough to break so please help me out.
I was looking into vaporesso revenger, wismec predator, smok procolor and sigelei glow but I want to know what you guys go with.

I've had zero problems with my Alien, the Smok Procolor isn't out yet so cant comment, the Revenger is good but the settings can be a bit of a pain to navigate. The new Sigelei's don't bother with if you're looking for TC. Wismec is getting better bit I would wait to see the reviews on the Gen3. A DNA would be the best route for that. I ditched all my TFV8's and went with the Sense Blazer 200, it has more airflow and uses the TFV8 coils. Batteries LG HB6, Sony VTC5 or 6, Samsung 25r, or 30q.
My Captains, Smoks, and Teslas I run my SS builds in Power mode .

I have owned the Smoant Charon, great device, I have heard many people here say the Battlestar is built like a tank![emoji106]
All those batteries are good.
The Aspire Speeder looks great but it is brand new. I wouldn't mind trying it myself.[emoji16]

Well, a few things. First, bad experience (other than crap TC) is not universal. Mine still works and looks like new even without babying it. The latest firmware update to 1.3.2 (for the A version) really helped TC out a lot and is usable. Not a DNA, but not bad for the price point. Do remember, Smok does not offer a TC coil for the BB the Alien comes with or the BBB. To my knowledge that's true on all the Smok tanks unless you build your own with an RBA (included with a tank purchase of the BBB alone, but not in any kit, you have to pay for it separably.).

There is the new Revenger, which uses an Omni chip that's supposed to be great for TC as well (no personal experience with the menu system). I've read very good stuff about the Battlestar and the Charon as well. Asking for good TC in a 2 18650 mod at a lower price point is going to be tough without also using third party firmware like Arctic Fox. Only you can decide if it's worth the effort to do so.

thanks for the detailed response. im not sure about the A or B versions so could you tell me how to differentiate between the two.
and yeah i have looked into the no tc coils coming from smok so i might get a rda or rdta to go with the mod. vaporesso revenger comes with the coils that can be used on TC and the Omni board has many fans. it is what im leaning towards at this point

I have a Battlestar as a backup and it works fine, but it feels pretty cheap and flimsy to me.
For daily use I have three Tesla steampunk 120s and they are built like tanks. The only problem I've had is a faulty battery door on one of them.
I had a Minikin 1.5 which I really liked, but unfortunately a family member liked it more...

Welcome, @Sauvage

My favorite mod right now is the Smok GX2/4. The smallest and most comfortable dual 18650 mod I have. Easy to change to quad 18650 mode when you want the power and/or long battery life, yet still quite comfortable in hand.
Agree, guess that's why I have three of them lol.:w00t:
