Hi, I'm new here - well evidently not!

Hi,

I had great trouble registering here! I was banned before I even started! So I am new - but evidently I'm not.

Way back at the end of 2009, I bought my first ecig because the whole family (big family) were gathering for Christmas in a massive house we hired for the Christmas week and I knew I'd be the one standing out in the snow smoking!

Well, the e-cig was a disaster. Great for a puff or two, but I spent the week parping around with ejuice and atomisers and leaking cartridges, and a headache every time I vaped. It was horribly confusing and disappointing in every way! Couldn't imagine HOW this horrible ecig thing could possibly give any pleasure to anyone! so I mostly stood out in the snow smoking.

When I got back home I continued the struggle. In my desperation to find answers to my million questions, and in my e cig confusion, I THOUGHT I'd joined a forum (not this one), but in the end, I tossed the ecigs and carried on smoking.

Since then, I bought a different device which started me on a love affair with vaping and all things connected with it. This is my sixth month vaping - no smoking. A MIRACLE! I smoked for nearly 50 years.

So I thought I'd join this forum after reading several interesting threads I'd like to learn from. so I "registered" with great difficulty and stubborness on my part. Blow me down, if, on my first login, I find myself "banned" - not just banned, but banned FOR EVER! What a shock. I'm a law abiding citizen, and mostly well-behaved.

I have blotted the copy book I never knew I had! In fact it was THIS forum I had registered on in those unhappy vaping days two years ago, and I never knew. Well, what a thing.

So I don't know whether to say "Hi, I'm new" or "Hi, I'm back" or just "Hi, I'm here".

Anyway - hello.

Welcome!

Like you, this is my second attempt at converting to e-cigs and like you, it's waaay more successful this time.
I think perhaps the quality of e-cigs has come on a lot in the last few years.

I dug out the original one a few days ago, and tried it just to see. The battery lasted about an hour and during that hour I had to fill the "cartridge" (more like a bit of J-cloth folded into the mouth piece) several times. No wonder I couldn't stick it last time! :)

I think there's a filter to ban people from Yorkshire. The tales of our dour demeanour has obviously travelled across the pond and they fear we will make everyone so grumpy that they'll end up back on the ciggies within a month.

What a lovely post though, just a shame its taken about two years for us to be able to say hello to you!

THATS what I used! I recognise it! I think the technology has improved - and I'm excited that it might improve even more...I have a "this could be better" list - but I'm just happy right now with what I've got.

Ha! Isn't progress wonderful! I'm only a bit younger than you and I find it so exciting to be alive during the most rapid technological revolution in human history. We're so very lucky! :)

Mind you ,the old e-cig does have its uses. I've been using it to test out new flavours, as I can change the bit of "J-cloth" so quickly and I don't need to worry about affecting my new one.

Well, I'm not a native Yorkshearian - but I like it here because the people are outspoken and direct. They say what they actually mean - I like that. Also, they talk "funny" and so do I. Mind you when I first came here I didn't realise they spoke English! But then those accross the pond don't either. Oops! A slip of the tongue.:p

Just a Yorkshearian sardonic joke - no smoking please.

Welcome, I am a returning person as well.

Choice of device and liquid can make such a impact on first experience with vaping. Without alot of research I don't think I would have ever become a long term vaper.

My first device experience was allover the place from sublime to frustrating. Equipment is getting better quite fast and hopefully more people will have a better first experience than alot of us have.
