So would you say that these smaller stiffer mesh strips for the Kylin M and the Profile are/could be better (due to the springloaded pressure plate set-up), than using the softer mesh from vandy vape (spool) on the Vandy vape m rta?

I purchased the SS mesh spool from Vandy Vape for the purpose if trying TC. Did not like it. In fact, didn’t like it with wattage as well – much prefer the Kanthal mesh strips. And yes, the flimsy mesh screen from VV does lead it to easily deform which will lead to voids between the mesh and wick, which will lead to hot spots and dry burns.

I have yet to try the newer SS mesh strips so no comment.

which one are you talking about? I mean the RTA with the vertical post clamps.

Never tried the VV Mesh RTA with vertical posts, but many have claimed it is of poor design. Subjectively, I would agree. Too much mesh! The Profile Unity is an excellent performer.

yeah that's exactly what I expected. Darn. Worth trying it out maybe, it is very cheap. I suppose if I can just stuff enough cotton in there and underneath the bottom part maybe it won't.. fall apart?

Saturating that much cotton is a problem. The VV Mesh RTA (not the Kylin) can not keep up. It’s inherently a poor design IMO

Look at the Profile Unity. It employs 2 different juice flows to keep the cotton saturated. From below, and from the side.

That's A LOT of cotton, damn. Too bad the RDA has no juice well.. I suppose it isn't sqounkable either? I know I am very demanding haha.

Thank you, it is good to know so I don't waste my money on something that's really bad.
I suppose I am down to the Kylin M, Wotofo profile and the unity.
and in case, I can somehow find it, the Cthulhu Iris RDA. I suppose since it is a sqounk RDA with a long sqounk pin going all the way up through the cotton, saturating it shouldn't be a problem?

Yeah it's totally rubbish, I've only ever got the 24 working properly once, it's in my bad tank drawer now and that's where it's staying, I mean, how the hell do you keep the juice holes dammed without it leaking all over the place, its very bad

Juice wells in an RDA is for cotton to suck up juice. It is not a reserve for when the cotton is dry. If there is residual juice in a well, it can leak out the drip tip or air flow.

The cotton can only hold so much juice, and given mesh requires a sh*t load of cotton, they also hold a sh*t load of juice! As mentioned above, I can get 25+ draws out of a fully saturated Profile wick before flavour starts to diminish. You then drip or squonk and resaturate.

I understand that punk but if you dripping it stands to reason you have a little bit of a well, you wouldn't need it with the vv mesh as the strip is bigger than the profile and of course that means more cotton, I don't trust dripping, I don't like it, I forget if I need to drip or not, too much going on in my life to introduce headaches, but with a squonk I just give it a squirt whenever cause the residual liquid will get sucked back into the bottle, I love squonking

Its something you need to learn. I do not like the action of dripping, it’s a pain in the *** – but required if you wish to use the RDA on a non squoker. With the Profile, it’s not really dripping, but carefully pouring ;)

I seem to have a sensitivity toward the silicon used with many squonk bottles, so I tend to shy away from them, especially ones that employ a proprietary bottle that can not be changed to something else.

That must be really hard for you, I don't have any reaction to silicone ect, so I'm good to go

I do use squonkers, but choose ones that fit a particular bottle that I know I am not sensitive toward. It’s not that I break out with a horrible rash, but I can taste silicone, and it does not taste nice! Not certain, but believe it is due to fillers being used with the silicone. I’m the same with silicone kitchen utensils.

I do have another mesh tank, not opened it yet, it's the mechlyfe dual horizontal mesh, I'm scared to build it :):)it's an rda and got a bf pin but it looks like it just squirts between the centre of the two coils and then the liquid will be taken up by the wicking that's in the well, more headaches haha

Thanks to you all for taking the time to answer all my questions! You guys have really helped me narrow it down, and give me some new perspective on mesh vaping, and I appreciate all the help.
I am now trying to decide between the Profile RDA and the Vandy Vape Mesh V2 RDA. These two seem very similar. Just have some research left to do, and then I am all set.
So my future set up will definitely be the Dovpo topside dual and then either or of the 2 RDAs. Gonna get back into the sqounk action.
