I'm new here and thought I would say hi. I just ordered a halo g6 starter kit yesterday. I also ordered some blank cartomizers and a couple of different e liquids from sweet-vapes. I have been smoking for about ten years I smoked Newports up until about 2 years ago when I switched to Marlboro Smooths. I smoke a pack a day if it is a work day and about 1.5 if I'm off. I will not lie, I love to take my ten minutes and have a smoke, but due to some health reasons it is time for me to quit. I still do not want to give up my ten minutes of peace away from everyone.

I do not want tobacco flavored liquids as I personally do not like tobacco and I love the idea of pumpkin pie or apple etc. I'm wondering what is a good supplier of different e liquids that is reasonably priced? I don't know if sweet-vapes is a good price or not, but I do not think I want to order from China. I also am leaning more towards a vg based or mostly vg based liquid.

Also the halo g6 I'm wondering how many batteries I will need and also if there is a cheaper compatible cartomizer? I'm not terribly stingy as I spend about $50 a week on cigarettes now, but if I can get a better price then why not.

Thanks for all your help.

Hi there Bethany! Welcome to vaping! I hope you truly enjoy the switch as much as I did.

I, too, was a heavy smoker (1 to 2 packs per day). And like you, I started with an ecig that resembled a "real" cig. I have since upgraded twice and now "vape" an ego dual cartomizer with a 900 maH battery. I found that I was "dripping" nicotine liquids 30 times a day into the little filter and running the batteries down 3 or 4 times a day, which was too inconvenient for me.

I use madvapes.com for purchasing replacement parts -- they seem to have a good selection of products, are reasonably priced, and have good service.

I use vapure.com for my e-liquid -- they too are resonably priced and have good service. Check out their clearance section for great deals at prices so low you can experiment with many different flavors.

I wish you the best!

Hi Bethany! Welcome to the forums!

I hear you on the peace and quiet time away from everyone. Not that I'm antisocial, but I enjoyed my few minutes of smoking, as it meant a period of time doing something that I enjoyed, whether it be listening to music, chatting with a friend or two, reading, etc. One thing that helped me make the transition was to still take those few minutes where I would normally smoke a cig, and just vape instead, but actually sit outside, on my porch, etc. I'm doing it less now, but it definitely helped.

As for juices, TastyVapor has great dessert type juices, as does Ms. T's and DeejStuff, among tons of others. I'm only just now starting to get my price per ml down. You're probably going to have to try various juices to find out what you like, even if you think you know. For example, I can devour Reese's Peanut Butter Cups like they are Skittles, but I don't really like vaping that flavor.

I can't help you on the Halo battery question, but only recommend this: get spares!

The dessert vapes (coming from a dessert vaping junkie) are fun, but VERY rich in flavour, and as another member said, they're not the same as the real dessert.

That being said, there are fun vapes that taste great, namely the fruit based ones. Apple pie is fantastic, as is grape, sour apple and tiramisu. The chocolate ones are by far the rich ones, and over time haven't been my personal favourite.

Check the carto prices at Bloogplanet and SmokelessImage (same model as G6). You can also use Vapor4Life cartos but I think the G6/Bloog/SI ones are a bit better and have cheaper shipping.

And I can get one week of use out of one $2 carto - I think that is extremely reasonable. And part of the reason is that those are GOOD cartos. If you buy the crappiest cartos you may be lucky to get 2 fills out of them.

I used to buy prefills and keep them damp with similar flavors. I now mostly buy blanks and fill them myself. I only use thin juices - one that are PG w/ 20% VG (plus Vapor4Life WOW Juices which are thin and clear and I heard SmokelessImage juices are 80PG/20VG) and I avoid all juices that drop flavoring sediment in the stuffing (typically dark or cloudy juices)

And for testing juices, do not use cartos. With a MANUAL G6/Bloog/SI battery, you can put a standard resistance DSE901 atomizer and drip tip (see LiteCigUSA.net) on the battery and use that setup to test new juices. If you don't own a manual battery then buy one as a spare.

For any ecig I depend on I have 2 batteries + 1 or 2 spares (all manuals), 2 charging cables at home and one at work.

---
The carto has a 1ml capacity. You need to aim towards putting 1ml in. I hold a tissue on the threaded end hole, tilt the carto and drip in 18 drops (waiting longer for the first few to soak in), Then I wait 15 seconds. Then I see how many more it will soak in easily (usually 3-6, occasionally more). Then I clean it up - clean threaded end, tilt open end down into tissue and puff into threaded end to clear the air channel, then while still pointed down I just touch a soft bit of tissue to the top of the stuffing to sop up excess (to help prevent leaks). Then I let the carto settle. I use juices with 20% or less VG so 15-20 minutes of laying it on different sides is plenty of time for every bit of stuffing to get damp.

While vaping - any time the vapor seems light, dry, or tastes the tiniest bit off or loses flavor, or if the caro is getting abnormally warm, I add liquid. I also occasionally look at the stuffing (especially before putting a fresh battery on or before going out) and if the top of the stuffing looks white, I add some juice. No settle needed when just keeping the carto damp. And if you do not keep it damp or if you use juice that is too thick (too much VG) you will singe the carto and that adds a bitter taste. I use a simple plastic or delrin drip tip in place of the end cap so it is easy for me to remove that to look at the stuffing or add juice.

Do you have to have a cartidge for that, or just put the liquid in that?

I did get an automatic and a manual battery. I do tend to leave a cigarette in my mouth while doing things, but I think I would like the manual better.

I'm assuming since you said on the battery you do not need the cartridge. Do you just put a couple drops in there?

Hi Bethany. I don't use atomizers but when I first used them I could connect direct to the batt without the cartridge. If you fill the cartridge it will be tainted with that juice. Yes 2 or 3 drops. Don't allow the atomizer to run dry or it will lead to failure.

Thank you, I didn't know for sure and didn't want to brek my battery.

You're welcome. Better to be safe considering we've spent all our loot on this stuff. Using the drip tip will stop the hot juice from spitting on to your lips because when the atomizer is powered on it really zaps the juice and gives a great vape. Re; The batt the only weay to damage it is if you drip too much juice on to it. If the batt is a manual there's less chance of damage.
Good Luck, Vapor

Ccheck out BlueMist Vapor. They have a HUGE selection. 250+ premade and 250+ flavors for DIY. Their prices are really good too. $5 fir 10ml and $10 for 30ml. They also offer smaple packs which I recommend you get. FOr $10 you get 5 samples of your choice in 3ml bottles. Their cheap so you can try a bunch. They also offer extra flavor shots for .50 cents.
And if you find a juice you really like you can get a 180ml bottle for $30, which breaks down to $5 for 30ml. Its a really good deal and they have great juices
