Hi,

Just wanted to introduce myself. I just started vaping - about 2 weeks in after a friend introduced his setup to me at a night in the bar.

I took the plunge and ordered my first ego-c battery and Aspire BDC with a sample set of liquid.

Two puffs in, I put my cigarettes in the trash.

Just got my first replacement heads and finished my first batch of homemade juice (50/50 12% cherry lemonade), and did my first dry burn to clean up my original stock coil a little (after two weeks, it was getting kinda underpowered).

Just waiting for some new wick and wire to be delivered to re-build my atomizers. (I really want to save some money after spending thousands on thousands of USD on cigarettes - $13 a pack in NYC).

So, hello! And hope we can share. Already, I've learned so much and want to thank you.

Hey NoMoAnalog glad to see you here and off the analogs

The Aspire BDC clearo looks like a really good clearo BUT after watching Pbusardo's review on it I think you are going to have a tough time rebuilding the heads for it

regular dual coil heads are tough to rebuild, these Aspire heads use a combination of resistance and non-resistance wires with the top coil also having insulated legs to prevent shorts so I think to get consistent results will be very, very time consuming and not to mention frustrating

Protank 1, 2, and Mini heads are all very, very easy to rebuild (and yes, all 3 are the exact same thing) but you will not get the same vape from a protank as you will the Aspire BDC

Hope this helps and congrats on switching to vaping

ps: DIY and rebuilding heads are huge money savers - My monthly vaping cost is about $8.50 - 200ml eliquid and rebuild 8-12 protank heads each month

make sure you are using safe practices in both the DIY and the rebuilding -ecf DIY stickies and youtube, lots and lots of youtube)

I saw that price for cigs in NY in the newspaper the other day. UNBELIEVABLE is all I can say.

I quit when they got to $6 a pack. I would literally go broke at $13.

Welcome to the forum!

Thanks DJ. That video was actually the first vaping video I ever saw! lol
:p

What I've done is order pre-cut wire with non/res/non at 1.8 ohms. I think it was 100 pieces for like $3/$4 from fasttech. nichrome. (eh, we shall see?)

But what I've learned is that I might not want to dual coil two of these in the atomizer because it will cut resistance in half....so I am thinking I might want to take out the two coils and replace it with one.

Obviously, this is not the way the product was intended, but I hate to go and order new wire or not be able to use the 6 heads that I have in my drawer.

Also saw this video of a guy who did re-wick of the bdc, and I feel like I can do it....we shall see. :)

I'm a bit excited to try!

I have successfully rebuilt my aspire heads twice now it's not as hard as I thought it would be. The second build is a sub ohm one that I'm guessing Erik need extra holes for juice flow due to how quickly sub ohm coils eat liquid up. I used 2mm silica and purchase wires to do my builds and they work great.
