All instances of vape explosions are a result of consumer/user error. The news only reports on the explosion, not on the malpractice, because the explosion is far more interesting and drive ratings.

The reason vape batteries explode is due to thermal runaway from a hard short. Never place 18650 batteries (most common), or any battery for that matter in your pocket without first placing them in a battery protective case. There are several things to consider that you must educate yourself on before you move to unregulated mods...if you ever do. These are not important right now. Buy mods that allow you to regulate the wattage (90% of vapes these days), and buy good batteries...these regulated mods of today are far more powerful than the predecessers without safety features. Regulated mods of today have microchips in them to think for the consumer and prevent bad events from happening. I would recommend a mechanical mod to someone who has extensively researched the subject, and has been vaping for at least 1 year before switching...even still, mechanical mods are more or less for enthusiasts these days. Since the power you get from regulated devices is far more superior in terms of wattages etc than unregulated mods are.

If you do decide to purchase any unregulated mod only do it after you have first learned everything you can about:

Battery Safety
Atomizer Safety
Mechanical Mod Safety
and
Ohms Law

The vaping Bogan on youtube has excellent videos regarding battery safety and tube mod safety.

How does anyone manage to get a cold in AZ? Hope you feel better soon.

It's monsoon season around here, so everything gets stirred up. Also, our fine "snowbirds" are returning, and I'm sure they're germy, there was a couple at Petsmart with a "Service Dog" that I entirely hated and nearly cursed at, so I'm going to blame them. You don't bring a dog to the vet with a REAL service vest that lunges for and barks at the vet as he approaches, and then say, "Oh, this is our first time out with him. He does fine if we come up to YOU, but he doesn't like it if someone comes up to him." If this statement wasn't a lie, that was some great training totally undermined. Since I always let EVERYONE around us know we have a half feral, former homeless person's dog and that she may bite, I hate people such as these, and I love my kid for adopting her since she was due to be put down the next day. He's rehabilitated her *greatly* but that doesn't mean she isn't a menace from time to time. :)

So, snowbirds, stirring up all the dust and mold, and school returning to session: it is cold and flu season already. Next time I go to the doc, I'm getting a flu shot and a pneumonia shot (they kept not wanting to give it to me while I HAD pneumonia, LOL).
