I've got a smok Alien 220 with the Big Baby Beast with RBA and have had nothing but flavour and cloud nirvana. I know it's all subjective and some vape snobs will turn their noses up at anything that isn'thandmade mech mid with someobscure Tibetan rda ... but I'm ROCKING with my smok Alien 220, Big Baby Beast with and RBArunning twin SS316L 26AWG 9 wrap 3mm id at around 0.3ohms, hitting at 45/50w - it even works well in TC mode when I can leave it alone long enough for it all to equalise at room temp, etc. Tried Ti, Kanthal A1, etc. but the SS gives me a lovely unmetallic hit, next try will be some thinner gauge stuff 28/30AWG.Keeping it simple.

Many thanks for the welcome. I've been vaping for almost 2 years, it has been the one thing keeping me off a 40 year 20-40 a day cig habit, so happier and healthier. Dropped from 24mg to 3 mg and just vaping for fun rather than need! Enjoying the ECF experience so far. Some good balanced and even informative views. Looking forward to hearing more.

Welcome diabolicandy! Congrats on your vaping success. I don't think anyone is going to "look down" on you for your setup, as long as it works for you! It sounds like you are having a great time AND staying cigarette free, and that's what matters.

Setups are so personal, I mean, there is absolutely no NEED for me to use a Steampunk Nano 120 for my MTL vaping needs, but I love the mod and get great battery life, and I LIKE heavy mods, so who cares. I think it looks delightful paired with my Kabuki, but the main thing, it does the job, meaning: I don't smoke cigarettes, and I very much ENJOY vaping.

Welcome to ECF, nice to "meet" you, and hope you have a fun time as a member! I personally would never use a self-made mech mod, though I can certainly admire the skillz of those who do... For me, that way lies madness....

Many thanks! You are so right, I have to admit that my views may be tinged with a little jealousy of those blessed with a disposable income that allows to to buy a Rolls Royce of a mod/set-up! But it is really refreshing to hear from one who can do so but does so without an air of superiority but does so with panache and respect for others. For which I bothebthank and admire YOU! Maybe you should read some of the other forums to see where my point of view comes from. Vive la difference I say. If we all rocked the same kit what would all have to talk about!

Well, I can't argue that the Kabuki isn't the RR of MTL tanks, LOL, but it certainly cured my shinyitis for a while! I got it to reward myself for 2 mo smoke free, and to be fair, it probably cost LESS than a month of smoking for me.... With that being said, I did spend too much getting started, and while I'm confident I'd survive a vacopoalypse, it also made me very aware that I could *never* justify returning to smoking and it's going to take a few months to ah, recoup my investment. I'm not at all sorry I did it, but I'm not buying anything new until I hit 6 months, I should be back in the positive direction by then. This is the only e-cig forum I frequent (I really loathe reddit, though I guess it can be useful for some stuff) so I wouldn't know. But it's ridiculous to *look down* on someone using an inexpensive setup, if they like it! In fact, I rather admire their frugality, LOL, and I'm looking to emulate it for a while....

Apart from having some QC issues of late (I kinda wonder if they were rushing to release for deeming that ended up not happening), though I don't buy their tanks as I'm a MTL kind of person, I think there are lots of smok lovers around here, and in a lot of ways they can't be beat for pricing, features, and usability.

I've seen a couple other posts where you apologized for your vaping setups. Just don't. :) It's not at all necessary.

Well, that's always nice to hear :lol:. I like to think I'm a fairly likeable person when I'm not being an incredible brat. I can't wait to tell the husband I have "sagacity":D. He will be shocked!

I'm going to like you right back, and I'm glad you found ECF if other forums were beating you up for your setup. That's super lame. :(

I'm still fairly new to vaping imho so i'm still on the quest to finding "MY" best setup to vape and a flavor i'll always come back to,but being a fruity guy it gets hard since they all taste different :p like my twelve monkey i've got atm tastes really awesome (that sweet sweet pineappe/mango taste is too good, but sweet as all hell so it gunks up those coils) I bought some factory coils to use but i went back to my "rba" with it's preinstalled coils on it i'm still a noob at whicking it but at least it vapes fine (do have a leaky side most times but i can live with it) Imho dosen't matter what you're vaping i'm just one of those curious types of people who wants to try everything and give my opinion on it :D (should be a youtuber but meh i'm camera shy lmfao:lol::lol:)
