Hey guys, i'm a new vaper myself, just switched to the joyetech ocular c from smoking pall mall blaks for around 14 years now, I dont quite know the nitty and gritty of vaping , i just went for the highest concentration of nicotine i could find in an e-luiquid , 18 was in the store, from what i've learned , i need a bigger resistance for higher nicotine levels , and a lower one for lower nicotine, is that right ?

The guy at the store set the mod on VW at 20W , using the nautilus e-liquid cartridge , as for the box mod itself , it's nice, looks and feels solid in the hand , didnt have any of the issues as auto firing or button getting stuck , i tend to press the button by accident when handling the mod , getting it out of the purse and stuff like that, im charging it with it's usb cable from the pc usb or the smart tv, not sure, can i use a telephone charger for this as well ? i have the charger from my samsung s6 , would that work as well ?

Also is there a way for us to customise our firmware as in building more functions for the touch screen ?
For example, if we keep uploading pics and music to it, how do we delete them as well off the mod's memory ? Didn't find that option anywhere yet. So is there a way to get in the root of the system ?

Welcome to ecf.
Your are correct about using higher levels of nic. Subohm I wouldn't go above 6mg. As far as putting it in your purse I would turn it off or if it has a button locking feature to use that. When charging the batteries use an external charger, it would be safer.
The firmware update is on their website. Afaik.

Welcome. I don't know much about that mod but two pieces of advice I can give you is don't charge on a PC or Smart TV. I would buy an external charger. Second the more stuff you put on there pics etc will only drain your battery life. Hopefully someone else will come along that knows more about your device. Good luck and VAPE ON

Hi and welcome! The Nautilus tank on the Ocular is an excellent first tank to help you stop smoking. It provides the feel of drawing on a cigarette, and is comfortable when you're changing over.

There should be firmware updates posted on the Joyetech site, but updates do tend to be infrequent unless correcting an obvious flaw. As for charging, you can use the wall wart from your Samsung phone. It will likely charge faster from that than a usb port. It would be a good idea to get an external charger at some point. It would allow you to keep a few sets of batteries charged so that when the ones in the mod drain, you can just swap them out rather than wait on the mod charging. It's also generally viewed a safer to use an external charger, especially with 2 or more battery mods, as some mods do not properly balance charge which cn cause problems.

One other suggestion. Get an inexpensive backup mod and tank because once you stop smoking you do not want a failure of your vape stuff to leave you with no option other than picking up a cigarette.

I agree that your Samsung wall-wart will be OK for charging your mod, but you should look into getting a decent external battery charger (Nitecore, XTAR etc) and some spare cells to cycle with your existing ones.

Don't think that you *have* to be using it at 20W - play with the power setting, try it lower - it sounds like at 20W it's probably at the higher range of the recommended limits for that kind of coil/tank.

And yes - 'lock' your mod when putting it in your pocket/bag so that it doesn't accidentally fire.
