I've just decided to have a go at building a mod and have been looking around the net for some information when I stumbled on this great forum. Its definately the best of its kind.

I have an LED torch that I wil be using, which has a chamber that fits a unit that holds 3xAA batteries' so it's the same length of a single AA, but a lot wider approx 22mm.

I've taken the torch to bits and photographed all the components, then put it all back together.
The first thing I will do is to replace the current push switch for a tactile switch that illuminates.
The switch in there is a chinees make a 1.5A 250V KAN-28 6m x 11mm x 17mm, here is a picture of it.
Push Button Switch KAN-28 products, buy Push Button Switch KAN-28 products from alibaba.com

Thing is, this has two posts, and most other switches seem to have 4. Can i use the 4 post models? Also, I'm having trouble finding one with similar dimensions that will fit the current housing.

Anyway, I'm completely new to all this, but hopefully learn as I go along.

Cheers Rob:vapor:

Thanks, very much appreciated.
I looked at madvapes also. Good site.
I've only been vaping a couple of months now, started with cigarette lookylikies and then settled on the Tornado Tank and not looked back since. I just fancy building a PV MOD. I thought of buying the precise, looked at the silver bullet and loads of others, really expensive!!!

Anyway, i'll see how this comes along with the torch, hopefully won't blow myself up. ;)

Once you have 5 posts or replies in new members and an hour's wait, you will be able to post elsewhere.

And MadVapes.com has a MadVapeMods modders forum but it got corrupted and they are trying to restore it.

There are lots of modders and tinkerers here and there.

BTW there is also a UK forum in the National forums section of ECF

And one place to check fro parts in the UK is Liberty-Flights.co.uk

I have no clue at all on how to build stuff or what parts you can use. I would love to build one some day though - I am a software geek but built some electronics kits in the past. Good luck!

Hi RobM, and welcome to ECF!
Yes, you can use the 4 lug type switches, as they function exactly the same, just that the 2 pairs of lugs are internally connected; 2 lugs = 1 contact and the other 2 lugs = the other contact.
They do this so when you mount them on a pc board, they will be much more stable when soldered in than with only 2 lugs.
