I have had really good luck with Evods. The only issue I had was putting some kind of liquid in it that cracked it wide open. You just have to be careful of the known tank cracker liquids.
My Evod's even wick 100% VG, like Boba's Bounty & very rarely if ever get a dry hit. It seems like the head/coil varies alot. Sometimes you get 1 that doesn't work well at all. Leaky or don't wick well but most of them have been good.
It's nice that the replacement heads are fairly cheap.

Hope you have good luck. I use them more than my Protank 2 or Mini PT 2. I use the PT's for the tank cracker juices.

Welcome & have fun.

Welcome to vaping heaven, paulmac. :)

I use an eGo-style, myself (Halo Triton). It's been working wonderfully for me. I think I'm going to get Kanger-brand coils next time I need some, though. I've still got 4 x 1.9Ω and 5 x 2.7Ω Halo-brand coils. (One of the 1.9's was dead outta the package.) They seem to last about 10-12 days for me, which means I've got enough coils for at least the next three months. I'm hoping I can do better than $2.50 per coil, though.

(And yes, I ramble on about irrelevant stuff half the time when I post. It's just who I am. :p )

I started with Triton and moved to eGo devices due to reasons you know too well. It's a great device - just limited and expensive. Just know that Kanger coils last about a day or two. They are really cheap, but I reverted to building my own coils. After I build the coil, I just rewick them with cotton when I want to change juice or they get old. The coils last around a month before I have to recoil the whole thing (mileage varies). For some people this is too much, but they perform much better than the stock Kanger heads.

Very good information to have. :thumb: So maybe I should stick with Halo coils next time I need them.

Or, a better idea may be to buy the Vamo I've been wanting and an RBA clearo and get into building my own coils BEFORE I use up the ones I already have. As I'm starting to learn - any idea that adds to my vaping gear is a good idea. :D

Honesty, considering the Triton is a ego-style battery I would save for the Vamo or simliar. I started on a little "octopus" by Smoktech. It is not a great device but cheap; there is better out there. Coiling the Kanger heads was great experience too, especially since I still use those. Either will give you good experience.
