i have a 25lb main .... that sits like that. except he looks a bit like a beached whale when he does it (he's black and white).
it's kinda amusing sometimes when he accidentally gets pushed over by something. at least it's amusing when you're no where near him.

maine coons are so cool, does yours like to play in water?
mine's a scottish fold, not known for liking water, but mine likes to get in the shower. he's an odd little boy.

Welcome Rotten! I also have a maine .... who sits just like that. We have nick named him Budda Kitty (he is my avatar) and yes he looooves water, we have to keep mats under the water bowl because he dumps them out everyday.
!!LOL!! Mine will only drink from a faucet or a glass. If I want to have a glass of water while in bed I have to use a travel mug, 'cause he likes to play with the ice cubes and use his paws like a spoon to drink the water.
lol he doesn't actually get in the water, but he's been known from time to time to sit on the side of the tub during bath time.
he also has this weird thing about not liking closed doors.
lol yeah, the door thing really blows my mind. as soon as any door in my house closes he'll push it open or paw at it until it does.
