Savoir-Faire is everywhere!
yea, the draw goes hand in hand with any negative pressure tank setup, and most tank setups are exactly that and are very dependent on the draw and very affected by differences in how one draws on it and this is also heavily affected by the power level your vaping at. draw helps bring fluid in, power to the coil takes fluid out, it's all a matter of balance to get everything right to get the right balance of not dry and not flooded.

it's a lot easier to get flooding and gurgling or to get dry and burnt than it is to get perfect saturation and actually stay there in that perfectly saturated zone as you take fluid in and vape fluid out... the vape is only at it's best in this central perfectly saturated but not flooded state
I get gurgling in clearos and perfect saturation in cartotanks. Hmmmm.

Guess I'll give all my bottom coil stuff away. :D

Problem solved (not that I was actually having a problem or anything....lol)

turbocad6, That's nicely put... and dead on IMO. At this point I am enjoying 100% VG out of a carto tank.. and it's quite good. Viscosity of the liquid used is really going to have an effect on what device you use and how you draw.

Zoe, I'm with you on the cartotanks.. I have a slew of clearos and they are so hit and miss, between leaking, flooding and removing wicks for flavor. I can fine tune, but it just isn't worth the trouble most of the time. Though in fairness, I think the very best flavor I have had was with a Kanger T3S (fine tuned)... go figure. But it's only perfect for about half a tank, then back to fiddling again.

And someone else who uses VG couldn't make a carto tank work for him earlier in this thread and preferred the clearos where he had no issues which is what led to my thoughts....lol

I knew I sucked but I didn't realize how well. (not like that, PERVS!)

Right.. and I've seen lots of posts about VG not working well with cartos/tanks.. number of holes/slotted ad infinitum. Lots-o-variables :)

It's just a joyful jumble of possibilities.

Well, joyful if one can afford to try out enough stuff to hit on the right thing. Not so much if ducats are scarce.

I just recently (2 days ago) gave carto tanks a go. I fell in love with them. Granted I do not rate them as the top juice delivery system, but damn are they good, consistent, warm and flavorful. I put my Nemesis in 18350 mode, slap a carto tank on top and it's a great super light setup to go out with. Got a Kick2 on the way for that very same purpose. I got 2 XL tanks from Smoktek as well as their 1.25 ohm DC cartomizers. I'm waiting on Ikenvape to stock up as I've heard rave reviews on their cartomizers. Got 2 more tanks on the way. I'm now getting rid of all my clearomizers. If I don't have a genny or RDA topping my Nemmy, it will be a carto tank.

I find consistency of performance to be a huge factor in what I like.

Sure, something might give me orgasmic taste a couple of vapes in a row but the delivery system that gives me a decent vape nearly every time I hit is going to score higher for ME, yanno?

gurgling is right on the edge of flooding, if you are getting gurgling but no flooding then you are probably getting a great vape, fully saturated and all that... it's always preferable to be slightly too wet than being too dry but for many gurgling is usually followed by flooding. no flooding and your getting a great vape.

Gurgling AND flooding is what I get. I know a great vape by now....lol

As I said, I don't have issues with what I'm using now...cartotanks. I'm just participating in the discussion, not trying to resolve a problem for me. I have rebuildables, a Reo, cartotanks, bottom coil clearos, stick atomizers, etc. Heck, I even have a disposable Blu floating around here somewhere....lol

I can make my own coils using all sorts of wick...I have all that here, too.

Options, I haz them. :D

I hear that, wasn't trying to diagnose any problem of yours as much as trying to add to things that might help the op's understanding and figuring out what he wants. personally after I started twisting my own micro's with cotton in a kayfun and a few other rebuildable atties I just piled all of my clearo carto plastic thingys in to a little box somewhere that I haven't seen since, think it might still be around here somewhere, don't think I'll ever touch them again after building some really great performing coils in some great high end atty's :) really loving my kayfuns and my cyclone dual setup :)

I'm thinking of cleaning all mine up, recoiling and wicking them, and giving them to my neighbor who really hasn't progressed beyond her first eGo setup - with the exception of the Kanger Protank 2 I gave her. All her stuff uses the same coils so it would save her a bunch of money.

It's highly doubtful she'll ever try to wrap her own...lol

The problem with that plan is that it will likely take me a day or two to do it. I have a LOT of those stupid things.

me too, I didn't even clean them well just abandoned them as they sat, drained and gone, if I never see another vivi nova head it won't be too soon :) if I had someone I knew who would benefit from them I'd try to scrounge up a few setups to rebuild and give them, but honestly knowing what I know I don't really think I'd be doing them any favors :) I prolly should just throw them out at this point :)
