Nice mod!

If anyone else here owns a Pyra, I would love to hear from you. There are several things about this mod that concern me:
1. 510 needs replaced or repaired. Its not usable. The pin is wobbling all over and losing connection with any atty put on it.
2. The negative battery spring should probably be replaced.
3. The wiring I do see does not meet minimum suggestion by Evolv.
4. Tolerance of the case is very poor and the whole mod wiggles around. Thin shims can fix that.

Has anyone repaired any of these problems?

Just for clarification, Roxy is talking about issues and concerns about the Pyra mod and not the one I posted. :p

@Katdarling, probably the same person whose Pyra is here now. $200 for shipping to and from France. He told her it was fine, and not only did not repair the 510 but mangled it all up and sent it back in worse condition than it arrived.

We discussed it again this morning. I think I'm going to rebuild the whole thing for her. FDV 510, new wiring, new battery contacts. Possibly replace the fire switch. Maybe add a USB port.

Okie dokie - that's some expen$ive shipping! What a complete fiasco on top of that! That's very koolio that you'll rebuild it for her. :) I'm sure she's beyond appreciative!

I've been doing these things with some of my mods. And I'm planning to start building my own mods soon :). Whether anyone will like them remains to be seen, but I will post them here to elicit opinions :). If feedback is good, perhaps I can start a small business for myself.

I have ideas for attys as well, but up front investment for machining will likely make those nothing but a dream. You never know though :)

I feel terrible my friend and its previous owner have over $500 invested in that mod, and she's never been able to use it. She's been very generous to me so hopefully she will get back a mod she's happy with.

I'm in and nothing broke :). All the wiring is pathetic. But, the entire DNA board is buried under a huge glob of hot glue. I mean a mountain of it. The Chinese clones are easier to deal with. I can't see changing the wiring without tossing the board. Going to change the 510 and see if its owner is happy with that.

90% or better isopropyl alcohol will get rid of the hot glue.
