Time to stop lurking and start posting.

I've got 1 single batt bottom feeder box that is great but I think it's time to build some more.

In the next few weeks I'll be working on another 3.7v to replace my current one (it's getting tired) and a couple 3xAA boxes to get me into 5v.

After that I want to start modding some everyday things into boxes like Altoids tins, and Pagers, maybe even cellphones??

Hopefully things go smoothly.

Thanks for the warm welcome.
Last night I did a thing...

New vape box building trickery.
It's a 5v box that's going to use a bunch of things I scavenged.

I debated on actually using the button part of the controller button, or just have the exposed circuit board be the button.
The switch can be really high resistance because of the mosfet, so it's possible to use your finger to bridge the two connections. After soldering I decided to just use the button to hide it. Plus it'll give you nice haptic feedback to let you know you're actually making a connection.

I need to drill a hole.

Need a drill bit small enough... I think .040" should work.

Nailed it.

Time to solder on the wires.

It should fit nicely and still allow room for an LED.

That is awesome! I've built plenty of mods, I have yet to undertake a bottom feeder, where did you get that bottle from?

Offhand I couldn't say. I'm actually undertaking this project with a fellow forum member. I usually just throw money at him when he orders stuff and say "just double your order."
I'll ask him when I get the chance.

But, yeah this is a bit ambitious of a project. Fitting a bottom feeder in a 3xAA 5v box is going to be a tight squeeze.
Hopefully this button works out. Worst case scenario I also can just dremel 2 slits in the case and run a couple thin metal contacts through and use that as a button.

Edit: but yeah bottom feeder is definitely the way to go. You can't reasonably be expected to drip in a crowd such as at a concert, or while walking/driving/etc...
