Hey guys, I just got a Hobo V2 by Infinite with my IPV3. I noticed right away that the insulator was really high up near the T-post.. It's giving me a slight burnt rubber taste. One of my nicest coil builds yet, installed on it: dual 26g 3/32 Microcoils About 0.4-0.5ohm.

I got the coils really close to the posts, and also "crossed" the positive legs and got the coils pretty much dead centered. The coils both glowed evenly and perfectly, from the inside out. The bottoms of the coils, are also positioned justt about even with the airholes..
I tried pulling the coils away from the posts/insulator a bit, but they're locked tight, and I don't want to ruin the coils.
I'm afraid I'll melt that rubber insulator so I haven't vaped it much. I think ive already messed up the threading on the top cap - tried to yank it off and now it threads on slightly crooked.. I'm also confused about the airflow - can I plug just a section of the main 2 airholes to tighten up airflow a bit (like I can with the top airholes), or no??
.... and should I scrap this beautiful build (time, blood sweat & tears lol); and try to build further from the post & insulator, closer to the airholes?
This RDA was recommended to me in another thread, I've only had a Helios and Nimbus clones before.

Thanks!! :p

I think pulling the coils away a bit may have helped, that rubber taste had just "soaked in" for a few drags. I think it's going away.

But what about the airflow??
... and what do you mean by "save your most expensive RDA"? Lol This is a clone, but it (and my new authentic CLT2 that I haven't used yet) is my most expensive dripper. Only had a Helios clone (still love it) and Nimbus clone before this.
:)
Thanx for the quick response!

He probably means... your RDA costs more than the wire (even if it's a clone).

Yeah, this is what I meant. Your RDA is **more** expensive than the wire and if you rebuild it will be cheaper than having to purchase a new RDA. Plus you'll be getting practice building your perfect build.
