I just grabbed the hobo v3 and I love the fact that I can vape at low wattage, get an explosion of flavor, great vape production and only have to wick every 8-10 pulls. This and my derringer (currently on loan) are my faves. I have the cloud chasing mutations and doge v1 and x but I'm becoming more of a flavor chaser.
5 wrap 26 gauge coming in at 0.27. Would love to hear some other people builds on this atty

I love my Hobo. I have the v3.1 though. I've only had 3 builds inside of it so far, one was a super sloppy staggered fused mess just to see how it would vape but then replaced within a day.

3 strand 28g N80/36g N80 dragon skin. I pulled those out this week to put these in:

Thanks, the dual alien coils weren't the easiest to fit in the post holes, I had to clip the leads down to the mm to where they would t be touching outside of the posts and layer one on top of the other. Best flavor atty I've ever tried. I love it.
I had to clip back my Claptons so only the 24 guage cores we're going into the post holes. The way this atty is designed even with the slow ramp up from the Clapton I still get dense vape with crazy flavor.

I have the complete opposite of ramp time in my hobo. The dual aliens start producing plumes as soon as I fire my mod. I guess that's because it's all N80 and the wrap is 34g. What gauge did you use to Clapton up your 24g?

24 core 28 wrap lightning vapes kanthal. I've got some nichrome on the way, I didn't know enough about the Claptons when I started making them. I've done a few that were 28/32 and 28/28. Brought my benchtop vise home that locks vise at one end and a corded drill in 3' away from each other that are level with each other that makes Claptons a snap to make. The jig is an Irwin benchtop vise and corded drill holder that I welded together to make them a unit.

I'm in my "practice makes perfect" state of mind and like fine woodworking and the high end carpentry stuff I do, you can't be frustrated or rush. Take a step back and get your bearings back. ;)

I produce music, and in the mastering process of getting all of the tracks to sit together in the mix, practice does make perfect. I wish I had a bench top vice, but all I have is a corded drill circa 1980 and a drill that spins too fast that I only use for straightening wire

Logic X? That's a beast of a program.

Go grab an $40 ryobi corded drill from depot. The jaws close firm without having to twist or making a loop all the up to 28 gauge.

Ableton 9 suite with Max for Live. Scripting in Max for Live is what I love about it.
I don't like logic X. I tend to avoid it. The work flow is less fluid than Live. When processing vocals I use Pro Tools & export to Live. I've been using Ableton since they were on version 5, so it's the daw I'm most comfortable with. I also play in Maschine 2.0 (full daw but mostly the .VST plug in) & for iOS/Windows I can work with FL Studio on my iPhone/iPad if I ever get an idea I need to put down without a computer in front of me.
The best part about ableton is the fact that all of the hardware I own is either midi mapped for it or comes with a midi mapping you can load, so it's all plug n play. And Liine has a great app that was once a $2000 hardware unit called Lemur, which allows you to control everything & more inside or Ableton.
I'm gonna grab a new drill but I'm gonna take my time and get a battery powered, trigger sensitive variable speed drill. I don't want to work sideways anymore lol

I've had my Hobo v3 (clone) for a few weeks...probably changed the coil out a dozen times.
My first RDA so I'm playing with it of course.

I finally decided to do this across deck build tonight with 24awg.
Flavor is nice, clouds decent.
Not too hot.
Sitting around .9 Ohm vaping at 25 watts.

Received my Hobo V3 (Tobeco clone) yesterday. After a few cycles in the ultrasonic cleaner and an Everclear scrub (process with any new atty), I put my standard Ni build in. Well I tried at least, after snapping the lead on the coil I realized the screws were going to need to be filed down. smoothed out the bottom of the screw, cleaned them up, and proceeded on to the 2nd coil.

26g 12wraps 2.5mm ID spaced on the rDNA40 set to 40watts/460F. No problem with the leads once the screws are filed. 12 spaced wraps is pretty much the limit, it was a tight fit. I may give that cross deck build a shot tonight like CuloMono's above me. Airflow set on single option, slightly closed off and the vape is great. I would say it tops the Velocity I have been using for my nickel builds, which I'm sure has everything to do with the Hobo being designed for single coil.
