I forgot to mention our tree decorating tradition.. hubby hangs ONE ornament. because he just cant be bothered and he and my daughter always put the angel on the tree together!

Hey! That sounds just like my house... ...hang an ornament and back to the football game...until I am summoned again to lift my daughter up to put the angel on top.

Not meaning to sound sexist, but I think ladies are JUST WAY MORE INTO decorating than guys

lol yes it counts. Same here, only now I'm more excited to see my daughter open her presents than I am to open my own.

We live in NE Florida in Palm Coast, so we are fortunate to be able to have a real tree because of the cooler climate.

We actually get a taste of the seasons here, and one day, I may be wearing a sleeveless top and the next day, a turtleneck with a flannel vest. As a matter of fact, that's just what happened this past week.

We like to make midnight mass on Christmas Eve so we can have the entire morning on Christmas casual and relaxing.

One of our traditions is our pizzelles. I make about 4-500 each year and give them to friends, bowling buddies, etc. No Christmas would be complete without them. Have 300 made so far, so may do even more this year.

Our Christmas dinner is always a 'red table' consisting of Italian wedding soup, lasagna or stuffed shells and always a home made cheesecake and a lot of other goodies.
Drinks are not my specialty, so I leave that up to my eldest daughter who makes the most delicious pina coladas I've ever tasted. How she does it??
Egg nog, and oh, all those other wonderful, fattening indulgences.

My grandmother used to make them for every holiday and I have the machine here, but Mom cannot find the recippe =( I would take off internet but not the same. Are you using the pizzelle machine also or do you use something else.. I think my aunt has little steel or cast iron things.. cant remmeber i just remember when the machine come out grnama nearly bursted! She was excited and upset at same time..lol!
I make cheesecake every Thanksgiving and Christmas. I do choc vanilla for thanksgiving in pie crust ans then ricotta vanilla for xmas. We also have cookie party with the neighborhood kids each year and make meringue's and s cookies .. or struffoli's all wear a santa hat an apron. I am begginning to think I have too many traditions..lol but maybe the pizzellis will be good to do with kids this year for change.
Almost for got about the homemade kaluha and lemenchello LOL.. yeah it gets busy around here!

Needvapor, I remember Mom talking about those cast iron makers....they were tough to say the least.
I'm using a 'Vitantonio Pizelle Chef' along with a 'VillaWare'. The Vitantonio is the regular, and the VillaWare is non-stick....I really prefer the regular to the non-stick as it makes a crispier pizelle.

You never can have enough traditions. They make the season even more magical.
