Yeah, I have to really shove mine to get them to move.

I think what got this started was the $12 tanks madvapes is selling now - the cartos have a flange on the bottom of them. I think it's to keep folks from pushing the tank off the carto when they put the cap back on after filling :)

Oh, I see. It doesn't have a fill hole then. Got it.

Yup. Not bad for $12 but we can still do it cheaper :)

Do you guys have a problem with the tank sliding off of the cartomizer? Mine fit so tightly that there's no way they'd slide off.

I have no such issue.

Since I use an ol' carto for punching the plunger tips and the resultant rubber compression factor, the new cartos fit quite snugly. In fact, when I move the plunger up and down the carto, the seal area will distort resisting movement.

Like carpedbass' old sig: If it's not broke, fix until it is.

Im tempted to buy those. Has anyone here used one?

I haven't and have no need to do so. I build four for their price. That washer and drip tip is not worth $9 to me.

I agree, Iffy - but some people would rather buy than build. Your $9 goes down to $7 if you count the carto :)

My time's not completely without value, though (not to say that yours is). TSC is about nine miles from my house but I do get over on that side of town about once a week - I've got three tanks here and enough syringes to make two more so I'm good for awhile. The delrin caps are kinda nice but I'd be worried about tanks cracking with high-acid juices and I've really become accustomed to having a fill port. Guess I could drill one if I really wanted to.

I haven't been able to find a stainless dual coil carto at any of my usual hangouts, though. The resurrectors are very nice but I think a 1.5Ω dual coil might produce a little more vapor just because there's more coil in contact with the packing.

I dunno. I'm not interested enough to run out and buy one, but I can see where someone might - especially since they're less than half the price of just about everyone else's premade tanks.

So true. And that really is a good price compared to other major vendors' options!

My <$3 setup also has a DC carto...

Well, since I gave up on the saddle valve for punching I decided to just buy a dremel if I was going to be doing slots. Wow! What a difference from my drill. I had been using a drill with a rechargable battery and the battery is old and weak. I was having to recharge it after doing just one slot and it took a long time to drill. The dremel kicks out a slot in about a second. Vroom!

Now, I need to find other things to do with my dremel so I can tell DH that I didn't just buy it to drill slots in cartos. LOL.

Oh, it was pretty cheap though.

I'm jealous! I've read a lot of good reviews on that B&D one. Been tempted many times, but I have 2 dremels. One from 1985 that is still going strong. But I'd love the flex shaft attachment and the drill press station. I think those would be a big help getting the tanks cut straight and sanded smooth.

I have a dead dremel somewhere in the basement. It was a B&D, but from what I've read they are making them better now. There could have been some user error involved in it's demise as well though. I can't remember why I bought it.

Will be interesting to know.

A springy clip-ring around the carto might be a feasible and effective way to alter the hole size / number of.

Though I might be over-engineering again ;)

If it's a caro, it has to have filler, at least I've never seen one without.

a carto without filler is called an atomizer. they are kind of old and outdated though, you may not have seen one before.....

No, they exist. They have a wick perhaps but the main volume is empty; kind of a small tank.

CE2s and G4s are examples.
