Congrats. I saw that you were one of the winners. So on the rayon. I was actually testing this the other day and yes it does work. Get that middle part tight tight tight and thin out those ends to baby fine hair like. That said, about the max I could do was about 45 watts which gave me a warm vape and flavor was good. I do prefer it with my Muji but in the name of testing I had to try it with the rayon :) Also, the plus V2 is wonderful with the changes. As soon as we are able to toss some pictures out for you, we will :) I will ask Maggie when we can do that but I am thinking it will still be a bit.
Awesome Deb, thanks!
Really looking forward to trying out the deck, I gave Amy my info last night so hopefully they ship them soon.

Cool, thx

So the strips are the same dimensions as what is used in the Vandy vape M V2, which come in SS, Ni80 and Kanthal if looking for options. Do not know about the new Profile 1.5, can’t find the dimensions but suspect they are also the same.

I’m a big fan of mesh, but much prefer the more ridged strips over the flimsy screens of yesteryear. This deck has certainly sparked my interests. Might have to jump on the steam crave boat!
All the current mesh strips will work. Wotofo, OFRF, VV but you can also use mesh that the strip is a little wider too. Steam Crave will have that available I do believe. Anything on the market now though will be easy peasy for you.

I use the Plus with the single coil deck mostly. I have 4 Plus tanks. They are great for me for work because I use the 15ml bubble glass -- which I can't seem to get anymore. I ordered 2 mesh decks and a boatload of VandyVape Mesh coils SS316L. Hope they work.

Never used mesh --anyone have an instructional link or photos.
Dry hits on a mesh coil are brutal, you'll experience one at some point. Think of the worst dry hit you've ever had and multiply that by 10. I'm not saying this to dissuade or frighten you, just something you should be aware of. ;)

Mesh coils glow instantly when dry, so use lots of wick. Make sure ever square mm of exposed mesh has wick touching it, if the wick pulls away from the mesh anywhere, that section will glow red hot. It takes a bit of trial and error to get onto the perfect density for a mesh coil, you'll want big shoulders coming out of the coil and thinned tails leading down to the juice wells.

It's been reported by quite a few users that the mesh strips that come with the deck can give you dry hits at a lower wattage because of the solid side strips on that type of mesh. I don't have my deck yet so I can't confirm this but it would probably be a good idea to have some pieces without the side strips on hand too.

@Heartsdelight and @debinnv would have more info and some pics of working mesh builds.

Thanks a lot. I did not know any of that. Now I better understand the message on the coils -there is a warning symbol "Dry Hit powers at less than or equal to 20W. The coils are .12.

I will watch the thread until some of you use the mesh to get more tips. Shoot --I still burn up cotton regularly --lol

@chellie Kevin did a great job with the manual that is included with your mesh deck. Please read through that carefully. Do NOT dry burn ( meaning pulsing the mesh with low heat before putting the cotton in) over the wattage he suggests. You will melt the insulator if you do. Once you have cotton and it is juiced up then you are fine. I enjoy the mesh deck around 45 to 50 watts. Some go much higher but that is where it suits me best. There are also some great you tube videos out there on how to wick a mesh deck. The thing you want to do with the steam crave one, is to make sure you thin out the ends of your wick and do not have any of the wick poking through the bottom holes. ( Thick in the middle and thin at the ends ) Just long enough to lay on bottom of the deck is perfect. Start out with low wattage till you get a feel for it and then you can carefully increase the wattage if you like. A dry hit on mesh is not a fun thing. I have done it a few times :) if you need more help just holler and again, please read through the manual. Hope that helps

Also, if you find you are having trouble, another way to wick this deck ( even though Mike is using a different deck ) this is how I personally wick my mesh decks. he shows what he does around the 6 min mark. Take care not to bend the mesh out of shape when bringing the loose end of the mesh over the wick and screwing it in place to secure it. Takes a little practice but this way works for me every time!

@debinnv Super helpful thanks. I am wondering if I even have the right mesh. Hope so. I have the VandyVape M Mesh sheets. I have 100 of them ---lol. I heard that mesh lasts longer. I had no idea about the dry hits. I vape a vanilla tobacco juice and I am wondering how the coils will last with that. I change out my cotton and coils pretty frequently.

I ordered the decks so they should be here soon. The plus is my favorite tank. I have 4 of them.

Thanks to you, @TrollDragon and the others for all the help. Looking forward to trying the mesh deck.

In the video is the same way I always wick my mesh rebuildables. So simple and easy, that’s the reason I switched to mesh exclusively. My bad eyesight and poor fine motor coordination made wicking standard coils a huge pain in the rear. It serendipitously worked out that mesh is superior to wire coils in every way. This is just my opinion of course but, having said that, my opinion is correct and anyone saying anything different is wrong and attempting to spread “fake news” to confuse and mislead the vaping public. Anyway I’ve said too much but if you want to know which ejuice flavor is the best ever I’ll just say it is a flavor I mixed myself. I’d share the recipe but if people started making it they’d stop vaping anything else and the flavoring I use to make it would be in short supply and people that did get a chance to buy it before it sold out would start price gouging folks. Well I hate greedy gougers so you can thank them for the world missing out on the best flavor ever made. After re-reading this post it’s clear my ambien is kicking in due to the fact I'm babbling and all over the place so it’s time I put down my phone and get some ZZZZZZzzzzzz’s. Night night my vaping friends, sleep tight, and for god’s sake if the bed bugs bite call the exterminator.

Well as you can see from the SC FB group, my mesh decks have arrived. I trimmed off the side rails on the included strips to get rid of hot spots. It will suffice for today until I can get some proper old school mesh installed later.

70W is no problem but I'll probably bring it down to ~65W until I can get it on a DNA with SS mesh.

Thanks all, I had ordered plenty of mesh and rec'd the decks. Just tried it 2 days ago - watched a video. No leaking - no dry hits. On the other decks I was using stainless and for the past week or so no matter what coils I used - they were bothering me almost like I could taste metal. I know it's me because it has happened before so I was really glad to try the mesh. Very happy. I was cutting from the top and I will experiment cutting from bottom. Flavor is good and it is very airy which I like.

The wicking looks much nicer than mine. I will keep practicing.
