Hi, My name is Pedro, I live in Puerto Rico. Temperature here is around 90 - 92 F. Is hot inside the house. I have stored my e-liquid in the refrigerator, but when I vape the flavor has change over time. A week ago i received e liquid from Halo and a card that is written "When Halo e-liquid is kept too cold, the flavor can be diminished and even taste flavorless" I have read, that e-liquid must not be left in hot temperature.

Where I can keep my e-liquids?

Hope you understand, my english is not the best.

Hi. The Southeastern US is hot, too, and I keep my juice in a cupboard. The temperature inside the house is about 75 degrees and the juice is very happy. You don't want to store it outside - that's too hot, where you live! Oh. And your English is just fine. :)

Welcome to ECF!

My place is about 75 with the AC cranked. All my juice is stored in a metal box in my bedroom, doing just fine. The only time I had an issue was in the glovebox of a hot car, hours in the 90 degree summer heat. I came out to find it all leaked out in my car. Other than that, A okay :thumb:

Bienvenido a ECF!

For those that don't speak Spanish, PedroM asked how to send a PM. I gotta admit I've never sent one before lol, but if I'm right it's by clicking on the user name and then start a conversation. Am I right or is that different?

What I just read is different than what I've been led to believe. I've read that keeping e-liquid in the freezer is very bad (for obvious reasons), but keeping it in the fridge is good (cool and dark). I've been storing some juice in the fridge for about a month now (first time buying bulk). Is this not the best practice? If so or not, why exactly?

Hi Pedro and welcome to ECF :)

I have left liquids in my car on hot summer days and the temps get way hotter than 95 deg F. I have never experienced anything bad even after days at those elevated temperatures. If you buy enough liquid so you'll have it for a year, it might become an issue but I wouldn't worry about it for a few months of exposure.

People sometimes age (we call this 'steeping') juice for a while because they like the flavor change that happens with some juices. Steeping at elevated temps makes this change happen faster.

I would not put my ready to vape juices in the fridge or freezer. I have read that can cause problems that can make the juice go bad. I do store VG and nicotine base in the freezer in glass bottles, but that has no flavorings in it and that makes it OK.

Edited to add: Here is one of the posts I read that I got some of my opinions from.

I would think the fridge is fine but let it warm up before vaping it.

I normally keep my extra juice stored up in the little sandwich meat drawer in the middle of the fridge and it tastes fine if I take it out and let it warm up a little bit before I start using it but if I just take it right out of the fridge and start vaping on it, it can taste pretty terrible.

For me after been refrigerated, was less flavor. Did you have the same taste, when you taste it after been refrigerated?

I've heard of other people storing their e-liquid in the fridge. I personally wouldn't do it, primarily because room temperature in my house is usually a nice 70 degrees F.

That said, I don't think 90 degrees F is hot enough to damage e-liquid. If you store it out of sunlight, like in a drawer or something, it will likely be totally fine. You could get a humidor (like, for cigars), as most are set to about 73 degrees, which is pretty much the ideal temperature for e-juice.

Pedro, I haven't experienced that, but as Vcross pointed out, the bad taste could be due to not allowing it to warm up. I store mine in large containers. About once a week, I pour the cold juice into smaller containers that I don't refrigerate and I think that I've let the juice warm up by the time I use it.

This may sound odd but true nonetheless...Store it in the cabinet(vanity) of the sink. Water from the pipes is colder since it is coming from pipes deep in the ground. It is also never exposed to sunlight.

If the water has not been run for a time just turn on the faucet until the water turns cool, run for a while and the under sink will eventually cool down too.:D

Store it with the drain cleaner, clorox wipeups, Mr. Clean, etc?

I am keeping my backup juice in the fridge. I just got out a 30 ml of watermelon this morning, vaping on it now and it is fine. I don't think there should be an iddue if you let it warm up well. Now if it needs steeping and you did not steep it before you put it in there I doubt that it will steep very well in the fridge.
