I don't drip often, only when I'm having a hard time getting my "fix".
So I'm sitting here, dripping on my eGo with a 510 de-bridged atty and a Black Delrin drip tip, when I feel a sudden sting on my tongue. It felt like a tiny bit of hot liquid splashed up. I dismissed it, but then it happened 3 more times within 2 hours, even after I've cycled through a few different juices.
It stings for several minutes, but isn't bad enough to cause blisters.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Edit: Nmind, I think I figured it out. I accidentally got a small amount of oil in it. mods, please delete

cleaned it as best i could, but it still popped a bit
so i cleaned it more thoroughly -- put an empty 3ml bottle the threads and used it like a bulb syringe to force PGA in an out of it, as well as force the pga to stay in it to soak.

Guess what! A sesame seed popped out! Guess it was stuck in there. Funny though, I can't remember having anything with sesame seeds in a long time...

Haaaaaaaa. LOL.

When it comes to your pv 'spitting' on you... This may very well happen when de-briged, so maybe it is better to conserve the mesh to the bridge and cover the cup, for 'backsplash' protection, so to speak. However, it may be avoided as soon as the reasons are found. For the most part it has to do with high temperature and the different e-liquids will translate into different results. Some e-liquids wont be dripper-friendly with this set up.
If you follow most tips from my guide to direct-dripping, maybe you will see this can be avoided.

PS: Next time keep your mesh. Phee himself, the member who first posted about de-bridging found this as a problem when vaping HV. Basically, he first de-wicked the atty removing the fibers for they were melting into the coil creating a build up thus resulting in a lack of performance; then he realised it was even better to remove the bridge altogether but encountered this problem, so finally he recommended keeping the mesh which covers the bridge in its original position. I guess simply de-wicking might be enough, but de-bridging (keeping the mesh, just removing the metal inner bridge, that is...) allows you to re-center the coil if necessary and have a better access to it which may come in handy in case of cleaning or similar; for inspecting or monitoring your coil for instant feedback. So next time you are about to perform surgery keep this in mind!

Well, Hogie... This is another alternative to prevent your atty from 'spitting' hot fuel on you, heeee!

But LISTEN:
You could still mod your cart easily to serve as an ad-hoc drip tip. Simply convert it by removing the two caps on the mouth-piece end... (If its a 510...Otherwise you may do differently but you can virtually convert any cart out there into a drip-tip) This way theres no need to cap-uncap...cap-uncap... You simply will have to drip onto the cart wall's side... Youll see a tunnel into your atty both sides.....
You may also conserve the polly or filler of choice if this works for you, for it may prevent some leaking....

A real drip tip could be more of a pain and less effective than this actually...

Try this and youll see its great!
Plus there is a plastic bridge in the cart which will still provide 'backsplash' safety!

Here's a link to a video showing how to convert your 510 cart into a drip-tip...
The guy in the video does it drilling and modifying the inner plastic bridge. This is NOT necessary; furthermore, it would be stupid here due to the necessity of this as a safety aid. Plus it doesnt affect the dripping experience at all. So dont pay attention when he says you need a drill and simply watch it to minute: eighteen seconds. That's it.
YouTube - Cartridge to Drip Tip Mod - DIY Drip Tip
You will just need a clip and 2 seconds for this mod, the link is not even necessary, but could be illustrating!

This is pretty common when you have the wrong atomizer in your device, if you go with too low of a resistance it will basically boil the liquid making it spit, I suggest you purchase some higher voltalge atties, as a dripper myself I need high voltage atties so that the spitting doesn't happen. Also there are drip tips out there that have smaller holes which help to prevent liquid from splashing up.
