I have a 6 bay XTAR, but haven't used it yet (waiting for the Zenesis) and was going to pick up 2 Pilas. If I can get some positive user feedback on the XTAR, I may just go ahead and use it instead. Do these stop charging the battery when they're fully charged? Are they as safe as a Pila?

I ordered a XTAR-WP6-II from SuperT. I decided I wanted the convenience of a 6 bay charger over a 2 bay, but I may pick a Pila as secondary charger/backup.

Check out the links for more information regarding your question:

Super t put the Black AWs 18650 2600,2900 and 3100 to a test and the 18650 2600 Mah was the better battery The red AW 18650 2000 Mah was just a little better the the Red AW 1600 Mah

Different battery chemistries. Protected batteries can not deliver the same current. The Zenesis was designed to run on IMR batteries. IMR are safer chemistry and higher current output w/out protection circuit necessary.

As an aside, if having the PV last for a day of vaping anything over 1500mah is overkill. Zen recommends the 2000mah because the IMR 1600mah were discontinued.

Needing more than 1500mah would have more to do with using a very low resistance atty that uses up the battery faster and at that point you really shouldn't be using protected batteries anyway that have thermal protection which I assume is related to current limiting.

~ZEN or someone else chime in and correct me as needed.

I am not sure what any of that means. I do know I love my pila. I guess charging 6 batteries would be nice. Anyone who has both that can chime in?

Well I have some good news and some bad news. For starters I have a full payment put on the TI already. Bad news, I started vaping again and found out how much it was killing my chest. Plus also quting drinking so won't have the urge to vape/smoke. To top that off, have some unforseen deals going on with this house I just bought. With all this said I am going to be selling my TI. I know some people are trying to scrounge up change for it so this is what I am going to propose. I will ask Zen to mail it to whoever buys it rather than me. Either that or I can send it. Whichever. Instead of the $500, I am going to sell it for $320. If anyone is interested let me know via pm so we don't blow this thread up with this.

PS, I am going to be moving a lot of stuff from house to house tomorrow, along with some clean up and a little destruction derby with the house. So if I do not PM right away give me a couple days. A lot is going on right now.

WOW ~ This is very tempting. If I had not already thrown $100 (& then some) towards a Vaporwall Raffle and pre-ordered a Standard for March...I would be very tempted to go all in and get your Ti.

I doubt you'll have any problem getting your asking price, but if it's still available down the road...I may need to snatch it up.

The results of the testing reveal that the XTAR is a very competant charger, is it a PILA...no. The XTAR doesn't apply a charge when it checks the batteries, charges the batteries more completely and rapidly... whereas a true CC/CV charger like the PILA strictly uses an algorithim for charging the batteries which is OEM recommended. (The XTAR will charge the batteries more fully and faster because of this, but not necessarily as safely...more of an issue with lower <600mah batteries)

"The charger has a CC/CV like charge profile, the termination is not according to manufacturer recommendations, but works fine in practice. The support for long 18650 and included spacers makes this charger fine for 18650, 18500, 16340 and 14500 cells. With 6 channels it is possible to get a lot of cells charged in a reasonable time (Two 600 mA channels is faster than one 1200 mA channel when charging two cells). "

"Thanks, HKJ. As I said, I really don't need one, but the convenience factor is attractive. I would likely only be charging 18650 cells with it (3x and 6x), so the effects of the high termination current and other strange anomalies of these chargers would be lessened, to some degree anyway. "

If PILA had a multibay charger I would have preferred to buy it, but I decided this was a reasonable compromise.

I already PM'd with a similar offer lol, I want it but I can't afford it atm, but yea I want it......so we will have to see what I can work out, but I am sure one of the quiet names jumped before I did.

ACTUALLY.....I blame THE DRAGON !!

I will not buy another Zenesis until it is revealed because I have a strong suspicion I will have to have and subsequently tame THE DRAGON . (but if I win a mini in the raffle...that doesn't count )

P.S. I blame Karmachine too...DAMN WICKED ... DRAGON LOGO...I'm smitten already!

Yeah I noticed this too... he had a few of them left. He offered me them in lieu of the 2000mah because he ran out, but I wasn't in a hurry so I just told him to send the 2000mah when they came in. It is widely believed that most places only have 2000mah. I believe most places switched to 2000mah automatically because they figured that's what customers will clamor for. Truth be told the SuperT guy said the 1600mah have a better graph. I beleive his graphs, but I still wanted 2000mah.

Um.....I opted for the 2000mah simply because it's a bigger number and not based on any rationale.

I do well with 1100mah at the moment for a day of vaping, but 1600-2000 would be nice for a extra buffer or resistance variance on my Z-COILS.

NOOOOOOO!!!!! In the end, there must be more than one to enjoy all these fine PVs.

Just got your nick, lol, you must be a fan of Ayn Rand :). I love the avatar, too cool!

Yeah, I am fan of Ayn Rand. I relate to and like the character of John Galt in Atlas Shrugged.

I didn't have anything really for an avatar and my twin brother sent that picture months ago to me and I thought it was wicked cool... if not a little scary.

It's like a graphical version of "cross your fingers and hope to die....against your will" I added the last part!

PS: THERE CAN BE MORE THAN ONE....FOR AWHILE AT LEAST!

Can someone tell me what makes the Zenesis easier to 'coil' than the other Genesis creations? I have never used, owned, or even seen any Genesis mod up close.

I think those who own other Genesis mods might shed some light on why the Zenesis is simpler to use?

I think other disposable atty people would like to know. What are the issues with other Genesis mods that make this a better choice?

(Just keeping the thread moving, and figured I could learn something too)

LOL I honestly hope there is more to humanity then Ayn Rand ever saw. I find her rather infintile with a self deluded sense of self importance. And while my actual life may be mirroring John Galt myself, I actually look at myself as more of the guru who went on retreat and decided to become a hermit. But I leak answers to stuff all over the place because I would rather see the world progress.

But yea John Galt was cooler the Hank Reardon

It was just a great fictional story. I like trains. :) (But YES! John Galt FTW!)

PS: I Shrug a lot too!

Straight wick, optimized postioning of the posts, sizing of wick hole, placement of air intake, all around he tweaked and tried to perfect the design to make it just a quicker simpler process with the best results with the least amount of fiddling, while still being a rebuildable.

Now that is ignoring the magnetic switch which is a guarenteed break of a circuit when you release the button, the venting design around the button. There are numerous manual protection aspects of the PV that honestly Zen~ would best be able to answer, but if you read the ECF rules that are getting posted, you are not getting any of that, but you are getting solutions to the same problems they are pointing out, from an advanced perspective. The magenetic switch invalidates alot of short issues by itself. The venting that the ECF Guidelines are calling for are extremely dangerous, an unobstructed bottom venting system is prefered, of but the button is there, ok well vent around the button......simple clean solutions to problems that many mods overlook.

Ok but granted I bought the Zenesis (I paid I can say that) because of these features and many more, honestly hands down I think the Zenesis will live up to my hopes just based on the engineer of it, and based on numerous peoples reviews it lives up to my hopes and probably excedes them...............

Ok waiting 3 weeks is gonna suck......

This should go in the FAQ under "WHY BUY HERE?"! Very concise and too the point.

Ditto...on the 3 weeks! I could use a mini-coma right now.

Thanks KarMachine (great Dragon BTW, maybe I will get it tatoo'ed so I have something to look at until the Dragon is hatched)

"The Guy with a Dragon Tatoo, but No Zenesis"...Nah...It's too much like the remake of a movie from Sweden.
