My :2c:

The report of all the juice in the top cap. I know Zen~ mentioned it... "Only fill half way and try"...

Well the tank on my mini holds "4ml"... So when I fill the tank, when the liquid gets to about 2mm from the top, it starts coming out all over the atomizer chamber base through the wick. I noticed that if I attempt to fill it all the way very carefully (which is easier with a smaller needle btw), when I put the top cap on and vape it, it will flood as soon as I start vaping. I had immediately noticed it not vaping right after a fill, pulled the top cap, and literally dumped a good amount of juice. So I have learned the sweet spot and don't try to over fill the tank. Since then, it has done fine. Sure I get a lot of condensate in the top cap, but I think that is indicative of a nice wet wick/coil and I just stopped paying attention to it and vape away. As long as the flavor and vapor are good, I don't mess with it, and have vaped oh... 6-8 (3/4) tanks through it already since Thursday afternoon.

Zen~ has produced a GREAT USA made hybrid PV that is the basis for the vaper to create/rebuild their own atomizers. One in which I am certainly impressed with. After realizing my batts had build up on the terminals and fixing that, it fires ~95% of the time... I do find the bottom button a little finicky though, but Zen~ is attempting to address that and doing so in the manner that makes me have confidence that it will be resolved one way or another. He is taking his responsibility very seriously from what I have seen so far. BZ.

Otherwise the equation is the liquid, the wick, the coil, and the end user. This all comes down to that end user and is not controllable by Zen~ or anyone else. Zen~ attempted with pre-made wicks and by providing a wick/coil setup already in the Zenesis. If the wick/coil setup that it came with is not working for you, then pulling it and building your own starts you down that path of genisis, especially if your pre-built wicks swelled and will not fit. Trust me when I tell you, once you find the sweet spot build for your chosen liquid and vaping style, you will be blown away in how it performs. It's getting there that is the journey. You have to be patient. Zen~ mentioned a wick fairly tight in the wick hole. I like mine slightly loose... as in I can slide in and out very easily, but it doesn't wiggle. I roll my wicks around a needle when I build them. I also, roll them very tight between my thumb and index around that needle. But I have found different results with how tight I make that wick, because I can also vary the width of the wick cut and then roll it loosey or tighty to make it fit in that hole. I have found what works with my liquid through experimentation. I do not pinch off the top (mine looks like a straw), and leave a few mm of wick above the top coil. My top cap does not mess with it unless I angle it to much taking it off/on. It takes some time and patience to get YOUR setup, but it is worth it in the long run. Then there is the oxidation, coil wrap, and hookup. You really don't want hot spots, and a gap between the coil and +/- terminals is another culprit to those nasty hotspots (which can be addressed with some silver wire or a small washer). You don't want that coil to tight OR to loose either, it needs to make full contact but not cut into the oxidation of the wick, I like to hit my kanthal with a lighter to make it less springy and easier to wrap. Bottom line, watch some videos to get the general idea. Then try to build your own. Break it in and USE IT FOR A FEW HOURS - to a DAY. If it doesn't wick, vape it horizontal, or tip it between vapes. Keep trying until you get one that wicks your liquid properly for the # of coils you are running with. Eventually you will find a perfect setup and have loads of experience on what works and doesn't for YOU. That's the beauty of this type of setup. I have witnessed many quit on a genisis type setup over the last year or so... They found it to fiddly. Well once you got a setup that works, it is not fiddly at all, it's fill it, change the battery, and go. I have been running the same setup in a Line now for 2 months and done nothing to it but vape it.

For Zen~ and his pre made wicks. I build wicks and then will pull them for later use. I dry them on a paper towel and drop them in a little baggy. They don't expand. Later for use, I just drip some liquid on them and put them into use and they work just fine. Maybe sending the pre-mades dry may prevent the expansion? Or maybe you have an issue with that for some reason. But it works from my experiences.

I guess we will see a video today from master Zen~. It is very simple to fix the wicks he sent, which I am sure he will show. I also look fwd to this new improved Zen way of building coils.

Sorry for the long post.

Bravo!! That is the Genisis experience to a T. I have posted similar things in other threads hoping that others will take the advice and find their sweet spot vape. I have never ever seen anyone take the time to learn THEIR setup with a Genisis and been disappointed with the results. It takes a little practice and patience at first but believe me. Do not lose heart and soon all of you will be in vape heaven. The time you invest on learning to get your Zenesis just right for you will pay you dividends for a very long time :)

Thanks Tim, it certainly aids in wicking and drainage for sure, but I have my own experiences also. I want to lay my PV down without it draining and filling my top cap. I NEED to be able to carry it a loose pocket without filling the top cap, or this will only sit at home. I have a Line V1 and it doesn't do this when laid on its side. In fact it sat on its side on my kitchen table all night last night after Blackbird left. No leaking. None of my genisis atomizers do this unless they have a fill hole. I make my wick like a straw and use 80/20 pg/vg and am actually using 50/50 in a Line right now. This works for me. It may not work for you or anyone else. If it isn't wicking fast enough to keep up with my vaping, I cover the air hole and take a slight air pull, and my wick gets wet without filling my top cap.

I am only contributing. It's now my hybrid PV, and I will use it how I think it works best for me. YMMV. I respect Zen~ 100%, but we can have a difference in opinion on what works for us as individuals. BTW, it is laying on its side right now and is NOT filling my top cap.

Yup, it's all good. I knew you had previous Genesis experience. I just wanted to toss out Zen~'s comments so a buncha folks who don't have that experience (like me ;) ) don't immediately go out and start plugging their fill holes.

please do with DT and without....im pretty sure I have measurements down but I want to see what the average is so far and thank you!

tty soon..:vapor:

For the Zenisis mini, it's 4 5/8" tall without DT and 5 1/2" tall with the DT I am using, some may be shorter to longer of course. The width is 3/4" strong... a little more than 3/4" but less than 7/8" :)

I would measure a standard for you, but I don't a have one yet.

The video has been recorded, I will edit it later and get it posted late tonight.

Never stack batteries for high voltage in a zenesis PV... If this is your intention and you have already paid, please request a refund.

I am trying VERY HARD to get all domestic PVs shipped tomorrow and all Foreign shipments by the close of business Tuesday.

The switches on the standards have a quick temporary fix installed and the permant fix goes into production tomorrow. All switches for standards will be replaced free of charge.

There are no finish flaws on the PVs being shipped... Everything has been cleaned up.

I'll be back when the video is ready to post.

It IS getting better.

I've got the magnets covered.

Send any Zenfidels who need them my way. If you want a few, let me know.

Not that you don't have enough to do, but your Inbox is full.

I just finished watching Scott's new video on the gen V2 and he heats the Kanthal wire 3 times before wrapping. He didn't say why, (or I missed that part), but I imagine it's to find cold spots and to make it more pliable for wrapping because it's a "springy" type of wire the Kanthal is. Your thoughts?

coolest part of the video to me? The part where I realized I was actually understanding it, thanks to our Zen lessons. :) Oh, and the even more coolest part? The part where I realized that our Zenesis is even easier than the newest easiest V2. :)

I do like the cover over the tank though. I wonder what Zen has cooking in the lab.
here's Scott's video if anyone is curious as to what the heck I'm talking about.

Thank you very nice.

Ya know how a carto in a tank works. It wicks from vaccume from a draw. If you'r O ring is bad or you'r carto is to small it will flood. Putting a bud tank plug in your fill hole and making you 'r ss wick tubular will (should) (in theory) stop leaks and keep your wick wet all at the same time. One other thing, if you do have a-lot of condensation in your tank the wick should absorb it and vape it off, in theory, when your tank is tilted to the wick side. Hope this helps someone, namely me when I get mine
