Well I have been using AVE Gorilla juice now in my Mini for 2 solid days and had the hybrid PV for over a week now. Yesterday I bumped my wick with the top cap removing it or something, caused a fold in it and it stopped wicking well. So I rebuilt. The one thing I find by thinning the pre-built wicks, is it takes the stiffness out of the wick. It is what it is, but it does work, and I find the oxidation is done very well as I can get a coil going in minutes with them. With AVE 100% VG, I am having ZERO wicking issues, using 325 and 4 wraps of 32g kanthal. Flavor, vapor, are out of this world, and TH is doing good. I do not draw hard on it all, sort of fire it and take a very light draw until I am done firing and then inhale it. Works great for me! Different style then I usually use for other PVs, but I really like it and it cuts down on liquid and condensate in the top cap.

BUT, I have never been a fan of the bottom button TBH. However, I finally have figured a way for my mini to fire every time and very reliably with no "finicky" firing, and I am liking it more and more. Of course this is with a clean switch screw and battery terminals.

1. I found with certain batteries I could rock the switch by basically grabbing the PV and wrapping my pinky around the edge of the switch, then rocking it by pushing on the switch edge. But that only worked with a batt that fit perfect.

2. Then there was firing using my picky or ring finger as a rest for the switch, and pushing up with that finger or pushing down from the top of the PV. Fairly reliable, but a little finicky in firing... I occasionally would have misfires and would have to readjust where I was pressing. Plus, I find it tiring to my fingers (this coming from a banjo player!).

3. FINALLY found what works for me 100% of the time, but it is hard to describe (so I added pictures)... Hold the PV in my fist with the first three fingers, so the my pinky is free. Then wrap that pinky digit around the base/switch so that it between the middle and outer joints. The switch sits against the palm side of my finger, and my finger is basically putting pressure against the outer edges of the switch. Squeeze it. It fires 100%.

Any other ideas???

Step 3 is how I do it. Just squeeze like you're making a fist and you have plenty of force to activate the PV :)

By the way... The kick in a GG with cartos works really well... Easy to adjust, does what it's supposed to do... My comments about its usefulness applies to the Zenesis Standard.

Has anybody else used a kick in their standard? Those are the comments we should pay attention to, and not to somebody that hasn't tried it in this device yet.

The idea of regulation is great... But going to a smaller battery with a MUCH shorter life, which is 900 mAh less capacity, then putting a boost regulator in there which shortens the life even more results in very little performance benefit at an extreme cost in terms of vaping time.

Maybe to some people this seems like a good idea... But not to me.

Once most people discover method 3 it's smooth sailing... Some people even begin to prefer bottom buttons once this method is used.

The first time I used a bottom button on a PV, I hated it... It was awkward, misfired, and really unpleasant. That PV was a Prodigy... But I eventually discovered the Fist Fire method.... Soon... I found myself picking up side button PVs and trying to fire them via FF... Then fishing for the switch on the side... Which then started to feel awkward instead.

I now prefer a bottom button in all cases.

I have a ton of PVs... And I don't use the Zenesis all the time, though most of my PVs have Z attys in various stages of prototype configurations... And my "go to" PVs all have bottom buttons.

My most often used PVs, besides the Zenesis standard are the Precise Plus in both 18650 and 18500, as well as the galileo with an 18650 in it, and all are bottom buttons.

I agree completely with this. I would put this in my Ti Zenisis when they go out or in my Hybrid mini 18650 tube or Katana with 18650 tube, but not in my Zenisis mini. I would imagine battery life would drop to about half a tank before needing to replace the battery. I don't have a kick to play with yet, but I imagine this is what I would find to be true :)

Ahhh the precise! I'm still dreaming of a precise z atty. Would be a match made in heaven. Especially with a matching finish.

What are your thoughts on the Galileo? Have you used the JUIS system?

Thanks for the tape tip.
I had tried the air control tip, and noticed a difference, but since mine doesn't fit well, I was actually getting some juice in the mouth.
I just tried the tape as a temporary solution, and it's almost working for me.
Almost as in, the draw is better for my tastes, but mine still doesn't wick very well.
I must be missing something.

List what juice you are using, mesh count, how many wraps, and how bad the wicking is. Does it dry hit after 4-5 quick pulls, or on 1 long draw?
