How accurate is a provari?

I tried testing the ohms on my provari and the number that came up was lower than what came up from my craftsmen ohm meter. For instance, the carto I have in right now is reading as 2.1 on my Provari, but 2.4 on the ohm meter.

The reason I ask is because I'm about to try my hand at rebuildables.

Ohms seems to do with a lot of things such as how wet the coil is etc. It seems pretty accurate to me in that regard, I only have a crappy multimeter to verify against though.

Also, since it's vv not vw, I haven't really spent much time thinking of it.

I've never ready anyone say they had any problems with the accuracy of the meter on the Provari and it's been spot on when I've checked it against my meters.

Did you zero out your meter first? Touch the leads together with it in the lowest ohm setting and see if you get a reading, if you do then subtract that from the reading your getting, sometimes the wire leads will cause some resistance. Also make sure you have the leads touching secure and keep them still, any movement will cause it to be off a little.

With a handheld meter, at such low ohms the leads themselves have an effect.
