I've been using Boge 510 cortomizers for a while and have been thinking about switching to a tank carto, but I've never used a tank system before and was just wondering if anyone can tell me how they are in comparison to what I've been using - these are the ones I've been thinking about:
Tanks & Tank Cartomizers

Also wondering which ones will work best with my PV - it's a Riva 510.

I use the same Boge cartos I used on my original Joye 510; they were covered with a black (plastic?) wrap to match the battery (I think). They seem to be the same in every other aspect. The ones I use in my tank have no wrap; naked stainless. I wouldn't want the wrapped style in the tank...with the juice. :vapor:

I use Boge in all of my tanks. Just gotta punch the hole yourself which is easy and the forum has lots of info on the subject. I've used the standard pre-punched carto that came with a tank but always ended up punching another hole because the one they come with are so small...then just switch it out for a Boge when it died.

Good call I use boge prepunched cartos but I was thinking about punching another hole as well is it possible to do it without the little machine Ive seen online at some vendor stores?

I use a saddle valve, like in this kit. You can also pick up these saddle valves at a hardware store for around $6. Some people have great success with just a hammer and nail.

...so I'm gathering from the context that if you buy a straight tank you can just fixate it to your Boge carto, is that correct? I was under the impression that the tank and carto were all one unit, I was kind of hoping that would be the case simply for convenience...

Correct. If it's a carto tank, generally, you can use any carto that will fit it. Any particular tank you are looking to get?

Tanks are great when they're working properly, it's like vaping a freshly filled carto every vape. You don't have to fill them up as often and filling with a syringe is easy once you've got the knack. The only downside to tanks is if your juice is to thick for the hole in tour carto you will burn them and if they're not sealed properly they leak like a sieve and are unusable. I use a 3.5ml tank which I fill first thing in the morning and again late afternoon. Give tanks a try for sure.

I found these ones I was thinking about:
Tanks & Tank Cartomizers
I'm not totally married to these, they were just the first ones that I found but I could use more info on the subject...also, the reason I started looking into them in the first place because the place I had been buying cartos from (liberty-flights) has been out of the ones I want for the longest time, so I was looking for a new vendor...can anybody recommend one?

Those look like standard SmokTech DCT tanks. Those are ok, but tend to slide around the carto and leak. Many people have success with them. I recommended the submarine tank mainly for someone looking to get into them for the first time as they are more forgiving for user error. With the cost of both of those tank options being so low, why not try both?

I will recommend these tanks from Mom and Pop Vapor Shop. These are extremely user friendly, do not leak, and they have an easy fill port right on the side. I've used both versions but like the mini with a standard res Boge the best.

I'll ditto this. I just got my 1st sub (1st tank actually) and I really like it. No worry about anything drying out & fill hole makes it a snap. M&P are just great to deal with & fast shipping....

Those submarine tanks look pretty cool, but they look a little bulky...also, what's that clear material made out of? Is it glass or plastic? How strong is it? I typically carry my PV in my pocket, so something that's potentially going to take up a lot of space and be uncomfortable or possibly break and get fluid everywhere would be highly undesirable...I work in a business where I'm on the go and running around a lot, so a high level of portability and convenience are important attributes for me - for the most part the Riva with Boge cartos fills this need, except for when my carto supplier completely runs out of cartos for 3 weeks...

They are made out of plastic and can be bulky depending on the mod they'll be attached to. They aren't bulky on my lavatube but are on my eGo battery. I've dropped them several times without breakage. I'll say most tanks are going to be bulky, but you could go with this tank for your Riva.
