How do I add a quote?

Go to edit signature....Where you pasted the code for your banner. Place the curser at the end of that code and hit Enter to go to the next line down. Add whatever else you wanted to add.

When I did that yesterday it told me I could only have 3 lines in my signature. That doesn't make sense, since I see a lot of quotes and other things under other member's banners.
No matter where I put the quote (and I made sure there wasn't a space before the banner), it doesn't work. I copied below what it tells me.

AH HA!!!!!! The code for the banner was separated in two places....I backspaced to close those spaces, and it worked!

How did you get a blank line above and below that small line that's above your banner? Mine looks all squished together.
