How do I add that Cigarette quit smoking counter to my signature?

Most (but not all) signature "counters" are usually linked to a page where you can generate your own. When you see on you like, click on it and you'll likely be redirected to the generator where you can enter your details and generate the signature code to copy $& paste into your profile settings.

I've done that many times and it always comes back as "invalid file"

Must be a bad/dead link in that user's signature code. Do you get that same error message when clicking on the counter in my sig? When I click it, it takes me straight to the author's generator page.
