This is what I do..

I went to walgreens and picked up some of those pre moistened alcohol swabs that diabetics use when meassuring blood sugar or injecting medication.

I usually take one, squeeze some of the alcohol out if it is too wet and start cleaning the threading. Holding the swab tight on the threads and spinning the battery around.

Then I take a pin and go around the center post scraping out all of the green colored gunk that builds up in there. I wipe down the center post and inside thread part by placing the swap there and putting sligh pressure with my finger and give it a good back and forth spin...

Then I take the pin and clear the air holes and Im done.. Move on to next battery..

Clean out a battery?
Did it go dead from some sort of pollution or something?
Dropped it in the toilet, did you? Don't laugh. This has happened.

I will be trying that now actually with katyas advice also

A small toothbrush dipped in rubbing alcohol works very well, too.

Thank you, I will be doing that shortly.

If your trying to get rid of the green gunk in the threads use coke. Fill a small dish with coca cola and stand the battery on end so the button is not submerged but the threads are. Leave it there for 5-10 min then pick it up and wipe it with a damp cloth (damp with water) to wipe off the gunk and sugars left over from the coke. The acids in the coke are one of the best things to clean battery corrosion.

Well I had some batteries that where corroded when they where shipped, worked wonders for me. Its also worked well on all my model boats in the past where I picked up the trick for cleaning connectors and servos. I dont see how its a unsafe solution as I've never heard of a negative from anyone using it and you can drink what you dont use ;p .

To clarify it's not meant as a cleaner replacement, rather one of the best solutions for cleaning corrosion. Seeing how OP dropped it in the water I'm assuming that's what happened.

As long as you can wash of where ever it makes contact and no electricity is run through while your doing this, I've never had an issue.

Your battery connectors for your models are gold or silver plate, or high-quality Al in low-current applications. The screw terminals on these KR808's are the cheapest junk aluminum that a little money can buy a lot of. When I say "safe" - I'm not talking for consumption, I'm talking about etching and pitting of the terminal.

Thank's Darr! Well guys when I dropped it in water it was fine, it's just the gunk from the juice that built up, I cleaned it and it works great, I don't have any rubbing alchoal in my house so I couldnt do that, I just took a sowing needle and a paper clip and ran the paper clip in the charging hole. I then took the needle and ran it thru the side holes and threads. Works perfect!
