How do I delete a double posting

I accidently double posted a reply in thread I started and is sort my own area, and if you scroll your mouse over the edit reply, it says save/delete but and when open the advanced option, I can't find where to delete the reply, am I missing some thing, due I have to have something else unlocked to delete reply's or does a moderator have to due it, really would like to delete the duplicate reply's.

If you need something deleted, report the post by clicking on the little triangle and a staff member will check things out.

Is there a reason why the ability to delete your own post disabled?

It's to prevent individuals from going back and rage deleting, which ruins the continuity of a thread.

I imagine that's a good idea, especially in the Outside forum....
