I've looked through all of the FAQs and can't seem to find this one.
If i have threads in "my posts" that I no longer am interested in, can I delete them from the list? If so, how?

Like, after I get an answer on this one, I'm not going to want to view it anymore unless I think that I'll forget...

Well, you have "my posts" and you have subscribed threads. I don't know that you can delete "your posts" but you can unsubscribe to threads.

I have my settings so that I'm automatically subscribed to a thread when I reply. Later, I can go back to "subscribed threads" and unsubscribe if I'm not interested anymore.

I don't think there's anything you can do about that particular part of your profile. Try working out of subscribed threads instead.

"My Posts" is actually a search function, and what you see is just the search results. There is no actual, static "page" to delete anything from. A new page is created "on the fly" each time you click the "My Posts" link. Look in the address bar next time you click it, and you will see.

I think the little boxes and options are only active for mods.

So If I'm understanding you all correctly... If I want to track threads that I am involved in, I should activate the subscription to those threads. And then when I want to see what's up, I should look into my subcribed threads rather than "my posts". That way, I can unsubscribe to threads I don't care about anymore and they will not be on the list any longer.

I kind of had a feeling that it was a problem with the way I was managing things rather than a systemic problem. thanks.

By the way, do I change the subscription setting by going into Settings & Options / Edit Options / Default Thread Subscription Mode / then choose one of the settings other than "do not subscribe". Just confiming that I did it right.

I set mine up so I am auto-subscribed to any thread where I leave a comment (post). I have it set to"immediate notification by email". That way, when I'm browsing the forums, I just leave that email inbox open in another tab in my browser. If someone responds to something, I see it within a minute or two. When I get tired of keeping up with that thread, I just click on the "unsubscribe from thread" link right in the email. Careful, just below that link is another one that unsubscribes you from all threads.

If you have an actual life and use your email for important stuff, you may want to set up a seperate email just for forums. I don't have that problem. :D

EDIT: Yes, that's where you change the options.

ugh, i can't stand being subscribed to threads.

if it's one i know i'll want to come back to i just bookmark it.

Yes, I know. Shortly after you joined ECF, you started a thread wherin you asked a question. It didn't take long to figure out that you weren't reading any of the responses. We all made fun of you, and posted a lot of pics where we Photoshopped your head onto different cartoons and animal photos. Lotsa laughs! :D
