Hi madvapes,

Sorry for two back to back threads!

I am able - I think - tell if a battery is charged with the digital multimeter but the numbers are crazy when I try and measure atty ohms.

I put the red prong on the flat end of the atty and the black one on the threads and then the fun begins. The numbers change continuously....constantly. Am I doing this correctly?

Thanks!

Firm pressure is the key to get a good contact.

Set the meter to the 200 ohm range
Touch and hold the leads together to see what the resistance of the leads is and remember that number.
Measure resistance on the atty to get an approximate reading, +- .4 ohms roughly in fluctuation.
Subtract the number from step 2 above to get actual reading.

If the meter is acting a bit screwy, try changing the battery. They're not supposed to come with a battery but did and not really sure of the state of the batts sometimes..

Good luck, hoog
