How do I start? did I mess up?

Ok,today i received my ego, a couple of cartomizers andsome juice.
I went straight and used the condom method to fill a total of 8 drops in the cartos. one each flavour.
puffed away, and although theres a lot of vapour, doesnt seem to have any taste at all. except for some plasticky taste of some kind.

juices are dekang (I understand they're not the best, but they should taste something at least)

Anyways, after reading a little bit, I read about blowing the primer of attys and boiling cartos.
So decided to boil one of mine.
the plastic slightly deforme, but it seems to fit fine in the battery still (not sure if it works)

Anyways, what should I do to start properly?

Did you boil the Joye 510 carto (the plastic ones that are best filled with a syringe)? It may just be the juice, but most new cartos (standard size) will hold about 1 ml. of liquid on the first fill. That would be equal to 20-30 drops. You may have not put enough liquid in to begin with and are tasting burnt filler.

i'm no pro-just a newbie myself, but it sounds like you burnt the filler. that taste doesnt go away, you should just toss them if that's the case. you can only boil your cartos if they are metal tubes, not plastic. check youtube for some good guides and methods. i don't think you put enough juice in there. i fill the condom half full, put the carto in, repeat, spin it, and add 1/4 condom more. by spin, i mean, put the condom on the battery end, then put battery end down in a plastic baggie, and spin. the centrifical force makes more room for a lil more juice. search youtube for "condom fill taryn spin" if you only put 8 drops in and didn't give it enough time to saturate, you most likely burned the filler. good luck, you'll catch the hang of it sooner than you think!

Did you get cartomizers (cartos, 1 piece) or cart and atomizer combination (carts and atty, 2 pieces)?

The cartos usually hold a lot more fluid- so it might have been dry. I don't think that you need the condom fill for carts, but you do have to clean the primer out of the atty first. If it was a cart, and the primer was cleaned out of the atty, the juice still may not have gotten to the atty. Boiling cartos is usually done for cleaning after they've been used- and isn't necessary for carts as far as i know (but i don't think it's worth cleaning most cartos either).

It also sounds to me like you didn't have enough juice. When I drip I only use about 3 drops... when I fill an E2 carto (fillerless) or a MegaEgo Carto I use about 2 mls. So for the regular cartos.. I'm guessing it's a LOT more than 8 drops.

(trying to remember.. but I think it was about 15 drops for a cart, and even that holds less than a carto) Do you have a picture of it? Or a link to a store picture? If we can see what you are really working with, we may be able to help better...

You can't boil those and I don't know of any way to clean them properly. I always consider those as truly disposable and would toss them as soon as they started tasting burnt. They're good for a quite a few refills before that happens.

You can rinse them in hot water, but I wouldn't be boiling plastic anything...

It sounds like you need to get one, blow out the primer, then prime it with several drops of your juice, then blow it out...and then fill. It can hold a LOT. At least 25 drops...or 30 on the first fill.

Those cartomizers hold a LOT of juice. When you put 8 drops in it wasn't nearly enough. When I filled mine I put about 60 drops to fill it completely. So basically you ran it dry, the filler material scorched and that carto is a goner. But now you know not to do that again. Try another one but fill it with about 45 drops, blow through it to see if anything comes out. If it doesn't add more, blow through it, you get the drill. If you blow through it and juice comes out, just blow out all the excess and you're ready to vape it.

Oh, and try dripping the juice directly into the little hole on the battery connector end. Drip, drip, drip. If you find it won't go in after a few drips (or even 15), tap the mouthpiece end on the table. Sometimes air bubbles get in there.

Blowing it after filling (I do it from both ends), clears the tube and it won't leak and you won't be sucking the juice into your mouth.

ok guys.
the boiled one is a goner, and lost its shape + doesnt work very well now. so it's going in the bin.

the other one, after filling it until it started dripping, and then blowing the excess liquid out. it seems to do the trick nicely.
Now it has more vapor + more flavor.
0 throat hit but i've seen that nicotine helps with that and i'm using no nic juice.

I'll bu buying more cartos and more juice now
anyone has any recommended cartos and juices?
If possible with affordable or no international postage (I'm in australia)

In the meanwhile.. I use those too. The first fill is almost 2ml ... not sure what that works out to in drops. I use a syringe. You have to make sure you puncture the tinfoil (inside the teeny tube) first, then you can inject the juice. On refills, I usually add about 1 to 1.5mls.

Hi casual. Go to the link you sent us for the mega cartos - there is a pic there with instructions for fling the carto using a syringe. There is a thin plastic cap over the juice reservoir that you have to pierce. If you don't have a syringe, you can probably use a paperclip to pierce it.

I got 2 of the mega cartos and singed them both before I found the youtube video on filling ... For whatever it is worth I've been using the boge low resistance cartos and I love them. I just got them and they are easy to fill and produce great vapor.
