First day with a kayfun clone. Going great so far. My thing is...

I don't want to use the clear center piece. For one, I think it looks sexier with the metal piece. Secondly, I don't know if any of my juices will make it crack, I know there is a list out there of tank cracking liquids, but you never know.

So, since I don't have a clear tank to give me an idea of how much juice is left, how do I know? I would think maybe just take the top cap off and look, but then that might mess with the whole vacuum pressure system and make it leak out the air hole? And while filling through the screw on the bottom, do I do it until some juice comes out the hole? Sorry if these are bozo ish questions. I did some searching on here and YouTube but everyone seems to use the clear section.

I use a syringe with a 14 guage blunt tip needle to insert into the fill hole on the bottom. The 14 ga needle fits snug into the hole and holding it upside down fill till just below the top of the plastic window. Any further of a fill and not enough vacuum to hold the liquid from coming out the air intake hole.....

You can fill it from the top. Hold your finger over the air hole on the side of the atty near the bottom. Unscrew the top cap, fill, then start the top cap back on; just get the threads started, then turn the unit upside down. typically you would wait until you see the bubble go up toward the bottom, but with the full metal tank you won't see it. Just wait a few seconds, then remove your finger from the air hole and finish screwing the top on.

You could check your volume by doing the same procedure... I can tell you that I use two Russians and a Kayfun and vape almost all day. When full, they will last most of the day, but, I use the clear section so I can see the juice...

ETA: you have to make sure that your chimney and stack are tightly screwed in!! If not, the chimney and stack will unscrew with the top cap and you will have a mess!

If you do flood the chimney, turn the unit upside down, hold a paper towel over the air hole and blow through the drip tip.

I also use the metal tank sections on my kayfuns. I can always start to taste it when they are empty. First the flavor starts to disappear, leading into a cotton taste(or whatever wicking you are using).

What I used to do when filling them was use a syringe and fill them untill it started to come out the fill hole. I would then suck about 0.5ml back out and call it good. For the past month or so I have just been using the top fill method that Lurch describes, except that I also use my index finger to cover the hole in the chimney whenever I can to help keep the chamber from flooding. It was messy at fist untill I got the hand of it but now that fill screw seems like such a hassle to use.

I use the full length clear polycarbonate tube on my EHPro Kayfun 3.1. I've filled using the top cap method and through the screw on the bottom. I like the bottom screw method better since it doesn't cause minor flooding after a fill. If you fill through the top, you can tilt it after filling with the drip tip down slightly to take the juice off the coil and blow gently through the drip tip while holding a tissue over the air hole. Some say that will empty the tank from positive pressure, but just clears the air tube for me. You just have to hold it tilted enough to keep the air port under the coil out of the juice.

As another poster said, use a 14 gauge 1.5" needle and measure the juice in a syringe that holds 4ml or more. Fill through the bottom hole.

Edit: I have one and it's almost more trouble than it's worth. To effectively use one you really need to have a threaded chimney section and a threaded top cap to hold the entire thing together. Otherwise, the only thing holding the quartz kit together are the two o-rings. For me, it's not safe to pocket carry this setup.

Edit 2: If you do order this from FastTech, go to the bottom of the postage options and select the option for bubble wrap and a box. It will add $1 per item to your order, but it's worth it if you are ordering glass items. Please note that you will have to sign for the box at delivery.

Thanks. I'll look around for an American site. I know a lot of people do, but Im nervous ordering from there. Plus I'd rather not wait two weeks

Agreed, most of my kayfuns I keep the window out of. You can always tell when it's almost empty. The vapor gets lighter and then drier, and if you keep going you'll start to taste it. I generally fill from the top cause I'm usually out and about. I plug the bottom air hole as well as the top chimney hole. Fill to threads (don't over fill, you need that pocket of air) then remove my finger from chimney and pop the top on a few threads then invert the tank and screw it the rest of the way in while taking your finger off air hole. Never get leaking that way.

If I'm home I'll use a syringe and hit it with about 3.5ml

If you use a paypal account, FT is safe enough. I have done about 40 orders with them over the last 10 months. I am also using the quartz kit from FT with an EHPro V2 and it has no leaking or issues whatsoever. Fits well with the standard chimney. Have no issues with it staying together either. I am order another 6 of them for my other Kayfuns. I also have the custom top from FT and it looks good with the quartz kit.

Oh cool. I have PayPal. How long do you wait on average for them to arrive after you order?

I bought the nano and full size quartz kits from fasttech. It took close to a month to get each of them, because they dont ship until 7 business days after you order them, then you have to add travel time,as well as any hold up through customs.I dont know how long the free shipping option takes though, both times i paid an extra $1.50 for the upgraded shipping.Once they shipped,i had them maybe a week to a week and a half after that.I never noticed the box option, that would make me feel better,i got lucky on both of them, but sending glass wrapped in thin foam padding and a paper envelope half way around the world seems to be asking for problems,so i would pay that little extra for the piece of mind.

Another option, which costs a bit more, but would get to you faster, there are a few people selling the same kit on ebay, you just have to look through them,as there are others too,but i seen both the nano and full kits on ebay for just over $11 and shipped from a U.S. seller so it would arrive in a few days.

dunno if its relevant or not but ive definitly used sum serious citrus juices(ecto) with the clear window and nothing bad has happened, also have used cinnamon and othe"acidic" tasting juices with no issue, not saying it cannot happen but i dont think those clear pieces for kayfuns are as fragile as they can seem, just my 2 cents

As long as they do not have batteries or juice, it takes about 10 days from the day they ship. That is from China to Texas. Use the recommended shipping method as it is normally the best. Shipping is free as long as the order is over $20. You should try a small order first just to satisfy yourself that it works.

I try to break up my orders by whether it is in stock or not and by the ship time stated. If an item misses its ship date and goes to restocking, I cancel that item to get the rest of it to ship. If you really want that item, put it on another order. They will credit you back against your Paypal account within 2 days. They are very good with that.
