Hey guys, I'm trying to get in to DIY but I really want to make these thick juices the new companies are making. Think of 'The Milk' by teleos. I swear these juices are more viscous than my pure VG base. I thought 'oh yeah it's just sweetner' but then I got a bottle of tobacco from Nude Nicotine, which has nothing other than a NET tobacco flavouring, yet it's seriously thick.
How do vendors make THICK juice?

For pure VG... perhaps commercial handling reduces exposure and re-exposure to room air.
Less opportunity for it to absorb water from the air. It's hygroscopic yo.
For finished juice... perhaps VG based flavorings.
Other than that... I got nothin'.

I prefer High or Max VG e-Liquids but honestly the ones I got over 90% VG were too thick. I experimented with that percentage and I have a Strawberry at 92% and a Coconut Cream at 90%. Unless your flavorings are VGD you will not get much higher. YMMV

The concentration of the flavoring has very little to do with the Thickness. It is the VG/PG Ratio that determines how thick an e-Liquid is. Alcohol and Distilled water thin it out.
You just need to find a thicker VG and possibly, if needed additionally, use more concentrated flavors(e.g. inawera and FA).
Even if vendor doesn't add water, the VGs differe pretty much in my experience... I suspect it has alot to do also with the packaging/caps, leaching in moisture from the environment...
I've read RTS has some of the thickest VG around and myself I can attest to musim-mas VG being OK thick too, e.g. from nicotine-river and liquid-barn...
Also keep in mind temperature differences, e.g. if you remembered a thick juice you used to use, then possibly it was colder then...

This may be true with VG based flavorings but concentration has a lot to do with thickness in regards to PG based flavoring. More Less concentrated PG flavoring is needed which acts like a thinner. Adding less of a more concentrated PG based flavor adds less PG which increases thickness.
Which is the VG/PG Ratio. If your flavoring is in PG that affects the final ratio....................

You can look at it that way if you wish it's all a numbers game between the amount of PG flavoring and raw PG to arrive at your final ratio. The only point I'm making here is adding a more concentrated PG flavoring means less PG in the mix (Lower percentage needed). So if you have to use a PG flavoring and want to arrive at a max VG (thicker) mix you would be better off using a more concentrated PG flavoring and not a weaker PG flavoring which means less PG and More VG room available. This means flavoring does have an effect on how you reach your desired ratio and thickness.

No it does not mean more PG because a RATIO of 70/30 is just that a 70/30 Ratio. If you have calculated and mixed correctly a 70/30 is just that 70/30. How can you say it is not? If you have additional water or alcohol those are accounted for if you want a 70 or 80% VG Ratio to MAKE THICK e-Liquid.

1. The one that you only need to add a little bit of flavoring like 2 - 3%
2. The one that you need to add a lot of flavoring like 15 - 20%.

You make thick e-Liquid by having a High or Max VG RATIO. What is the ratio of the e-Liquid he wants to recreate? Either high or MAX VG. I don't care what your flavoring contains MAX VG or HIGH VG is 80% or higher.
You can make up to 15% flavor at 80& VG with 100% PG Based flavor. To use 20% you would more likely wind up with a 75/25 VG/PG percentage. Using 20% flavoring is not that common.
Your argument is a valid one basing your average high VG vape at 80/20 which is the common value. But there are also many that want to reach 90/10 or better and in that case my argument is also valid. So lets just say we are both correct and leave it at that.

I have tried to achieve the highest MAX VG Ratio and from my personal experience any more than 80% is a waste because it is just too thick. Maybe good for dripping but hard to dispense from a dropper. I have gotten to 92.8% VG.
