Hi. Was on the Classifieds and a contest thread today. Both referred to bumping. What in the world is that and how do you do it? I know it is a stupid question, but I am still learning and any answer will be appreciated.

Bump just means that you make a post to a thread and that "bumps" it to the top of the list of current active threads.

It's just posting in a thread to move it to the top of the list. When you have nothing to actually contribute, but want to keep it on the first page for others, you would just type "BUMP". But on this site, there is a 10 character minimum, so you have to add more.
Which also explains the mysterious "10 char min" posts you might see... adding enough characters for a valid post by just typing "10 char min" (or variation of).
